the Rachelle log

I do not think I have mentioned Rachelle much here. Well...she is a wonderfully bubbly girl. Does not hurt that she is also a very attractive young lady. Only thing is she just loves to run....and run...and run...well you get the picture. But she runs too much for her own good. Not a week goes by where she does not get some sort of injury related to running. She has gotta learn to take better care of her body.

Met her in person only once but she comes across as really sincere and sweet. We hit it off immediately and I think she is a keeper. She is nursing a broken heart when she parted ways with her ex of 8 years. So i guess in that way I empathise with her being that me and Joyce were together for around the same number of years. Getting over someone you loved is a slow and painful process and it will take time for both of us to get over our respective losses.

Well...Rachelle and I made a pact to eat pie together....hee hee hee....so looking forward to eating pie...

Used,Abused,Misused

Had a good chat with Maybel last night. She had met her ex's ex (the third party to be exact, who is no longer with her now). Apparently Maybel's ex has this violent streak which was already evident when they were together. He had nearly hit Maybel on a few occasions but due to her submissive nature he did not in the end. But the girl whom he was with after Maybel had been hit and nearly strangled in the heat of arguments. He had even threatened to throw one of the the house dogs out the window and actually stuffed one of the dogs in a closed bin!

I told Maybel that she is so blessed to be rid of the animal (her ex lah!!). No telling what would have happened if they were still together. Maybel had been sad and in state of depression of being alone ever since the break-up. But the latest incidents only show how favoured she had been. She has found something better for herself now.

I guess Maybel and I are kindred spirits in a way. We have both been hurt in love but still pine for the one who hurt us. Time heals all wounds...that is what they say......

A new entry...

Not able to meet Carolyn this week. We agreed to meet on her next off day. Till then the phone is a useful tool....

Met Joyce on Thursday and Sunday. Had a great dinner at the amusingly named Coqs and Bulls on Sunday. Even managed to meet a Miss Universe 1st runner up....whose name escapes me right now. What a bitch! Bwaahahahaaa...

My word of the week 'Jackass'. Do not ask me who it refers to....

Sunny makes funny noises when she goes on bumps. Gotta have it checked out over the weekend at the Nissan Autocare Centre as discussed with Joyce. ...

Lyn and Hasli seem to be having a cold war of sorts over work issues. So Hasli is just bumming around and taking advantage of the situation as he usually does. The creep...

Speaking of creeps; "Jackass!!Jackass!!"

Another thing that starts with J-A-C-K is Jackie. I hate being rude but the woman does not seem to take hints well. It is like Niki all over again...
I treat her as a friend and nothing else. If she does not want to risk losing a friend, she has gotta learn to be 'a friend'.

Bought the 'new' FIFA 2004 for my XBOX. It is kinda fun yet infuriating at the same time. It lacks the playability of the 2003 edition yet it boasts better graphics. I guess you can't have it all....

Hmm...Alison and Joy. Is this a name or is this a new beginning? Another nurse to add to my collection. At least I can rest in the knowledge that I am in good hands...literally....for some TLC...

Watched The Passion of the Christ yesterday with Lyn, Jack, Steven (or is it Philip...Jacks brother) and someone who will remain unnamed for obvious reasons.
Was a good movie overall but rather too graphic for my liking. A lot of churches are using this show as a form of evangelisation and giving out free tickets and the like. But I think this show takes too many artistic liberties as far as the plot goes. It is not based purely on Gospel accounts but rather on Catholic manuscripts. The use of theatrical devices is evident throughout. The supporting characters were not fully fleshed out with the plot driven mainly by the arrest, trial and eventual crucifixion of Jesus.
James Caviezel gave the performance of a lifetime in the title role. Monica Belucci was particularly memorable in her role as Mary Magdalene. Hristo Naumov Shopov played the conflicted role of Pontius Pilate to the tee. Torn between justice and appeasing the mob, Pilate chose the latter to tragic consequences.
The sets and cinematography were accurate and breathtaking all at once.
If I were to rate The Passion I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.

This Love

I was so high I did not recognize
The fire burning in her eyes
The chaos that controlled my mind
Whispered goodbye and she got on a plane
Never to return again
But always in my heart

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore

I tried my best to feed her appetite
Keep her coming every night
So hard to keep her satisfied
Kept playing love like it was just a game
Pretending to feel the same
Then turn around and leave again

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore

I'll fix these broken things
Repair your broken wings
And make sure everything's alright
My pressure on your hips
Sinking my fingertips
Into every inch of you
Cause I know that's what you want me to do

Joy, Faith and Love

This past week Joyce has been in my thoughts more than is usual.

Not a day goes by that i do not think of her or am reminded of her in some shape or form. It is hard to forget someone whom you have shared so much of your life with. Even the everyday aspects of my life and mundane details hark back to our time together. The watch I wear was given to me by Joyce. The car I drive was bought by mine and Joyce's scrimping and saving to realise a dream. The place I work at was Joyce's first workplace after she graduated from poly. We share so many common friends. People ask me almost every other day about how Joyce is and whether we had reconciled yet.

It does not help my wounds to heal any when I see Joyce on average twice a week for church services alone. We still keep in regular contact with one another. Even our respective families still make it a point to contact Joyce or myself whenever anything worth telling comes about. We still get invited to one anothers homes for dinner/lunch on festive occasions, birthdays and when someone strikes 4-D or gets a bonus at work.

Sometime I wish this was all just a bad dream and I would wake up. As much as I feel that Joyce was wrong in breaking it off, I still loved her then. And I still love her now. It was a bitter pill to swallow to be put down and made to feel inadequate by someone whom you loved. She felt that we were not compatible. We had different goals and ambitions. We wanted different things out of life. That she was holding me back from being all I could be.

But sometimes we do things that defy reason or logic. That is what true love is. The ability to overlook anothers faults and see the beauty that lies hidden. To be willing to give fully of yourself and to expect nothing back in return. To be together through the good times and especially in the bad times.

Dwelling Places

At the risk of embarrassing Lyn further with my high esteem; I love you sis!! She is such a lovely person to just be with and talk to. Of course being the 2 unique individuals that we are, we opt to SMS rather than call one another most times.

A case in point is tonight. What started out as just an enquiry into how my 'date' with May went became one of our now almost legendary (to us at least) heart-to-heart talks. We talked about things that I would never talk to anyone else in quite the same words. The best part was how she is never judgemental and fully supportive of me in whatsoever I endeavour to do. Poh is the most blessed man on earth.

I am not sure if my opinions are skewed but I really do think the world of Lyn and I always tell her so. Such virtue is hard to come by and I cherish every moment we shared and look forward to more such days...

A flower in the meadow

Hmm...where to start?

Well...was out all day doing field inspections. So kinda tired with all the driving around.

In the evening May sms'ed me about going bowling. She had also done the same to Poh. In the end it was only me and May who were going.

After work I went straight home. While there May sms'ed me to let me know that she was at Bukit Batok meeting a client. The clincher was that she was with Angela. Angela is the girl whom May had been trying to hitch me up with all this time. So I dressed up and drove down to fetch the 2 ladies. Being unfamiliar with the Bukit Batok area, it took me longer than expected to get there.

After much ado, I finally got to meet Angela. She seems a really nice girl...or rather lady. Very witty, smart, intelligent and above all: outspoken. She seems the outgoing and outdoor sort which is sort of up my alley...no pun intended. Anyway as the journey prigressed to Angela's place, it became more and more May- Angela than Leon -Angela which was ok by me. I would much rather get to know her one-on-one in a less intimidating setting than in the backseat of my car with May there. So we shall see...

Thereafter, May and I adjourned to her place so she could change into something more comfortable. We tried in vain to reach Lyn but to no avail. Lyn had gone to the gym and had not brought along her mobile. So the happy campers went dinner-hunting and bowling without my beloved sis.

We opted to eat at Mos Burger at Great World City which is opposite of the road to the bowling alley. When we enquired at the information counter, we were informed that no Mos Burger was to be had. So I insisted on McDonald's. I just love the fries at the branch. They just taste so much better than any others in Singapore. Wax nostalgic for my childhood days when Mac's fries were 'it'. Nowadays Mac's fries taste just like any other generic fries served elsewhere.

After din, we went window shopping. Actually window shopping would not accurately describe what transpired, as we did actually buy something and did actually go into stores as opposed to just looking from without. May bought a couple of plush teddy bears for her 2 cousins whose birthday parties are tomorrow.

We then crossed the street to the bowling alley to begin our bowling. The alley was packed. So we wrote our names down on the waiting list. Waited..waited.....

After waiting....waiting....we left to returned to Great World City to collect the car.Sent May home.

Pity we did not get the chance to bowl. May suggested we go bowling on Good Friday thereabouts, which to me is a good idea.
