What we husbands already know...

A lady visited the government matchmaker, SDU, for marriage and requested "I am looking for a spouse. Please help me to find a suitable one." The SDU officer said, "Your requirements, please."

"Oh, he must be good looking, polite, humorous, sporty, knowledgeable, good in singing and dancing. He must also be willing to accompany me the whole day at home and during my leisure hours if I don't go out; tell me interesting stories when I need conversation and be silent when I want to rest."

The officer listened carefully and replied, "I understand. You need a television."

Letter from the NKF to me!

Dear Mr Boyd,

Thank you message from the new interim CEO, NKF

This letter is to keep you posted on the recent developments at the NKF as you are one of the important benefactors of our needy patients. As the new CEO of the NKF, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your steadfast support towards our patients. Your kind and generous donations have given them and their families tremendous hope for the future as they battle against life-threatening illnesses.

You must be aware of the recent media reports on the alleged inappropriate use of funds by the former NKF CEO and the Board. As a result, the NKF has recently undergone a major change in its management. I, as the new interim CEO, together with the new Board of Directors will oversee and ensure that all donations made to the NKF are put to good use. We have commissioned an external auditor, KPMG, to conduct a detailed review of the financial controls within the NKF and will make public the findings in due course. We hope to restore your confidence and trust in the NKF.

The new NKF Board members are eminent professionals and administrators handpicked by our Health Minister whose priority is to ensure the continued existence of a strong NKF and ensure that your donations are put to good use. Our Chairman is Mr Gerard Ee, an eminent charity volunteer.

I am familiar with running a healthcare organisation as I was the National Skin Centre’s (NSC) medical director for 14 years till April last year. As interim CEO of the NKF, I will be working closely with the new Board and will take directions from them.

The NKF’s commitment to its needy patients will not waver. Our objective is to continue all life-saving programmes with greater transparency and accountability in all activities. There are about 1,770 patients who are receiving life-saving dialysis in NKF dialysis centres. They will continue to depend on the heavily subsidised dialysis at the NKF for many years to come. Your donations have made this possible.

We are also proceeding with all our medical, prevention, and education programmes to promote the prevention of diabetes and high blood pressure that are the major causes of kidney failure. On behalf of the new Board and staff of the NKF, let me thank you again for your generous support.

The NKF Board and I are reviewing the NKF’s practices and corporate governance as well as reviewing how we can reduce dialysis costs for our patients. We are also reviewing the selection criteria and subsidy for patients who need NKF’s assistance and subsidies.

We need to reassure our patients that they will continue to receive life-saving treatment and subsidy through the donations of caring Singaporeans like you. I hope that with your unwavering support the NKF can continue to help needy patients with kidney disease.

We will be keeping you updated on further developments at the new NKF.

Yours sincerely,

Prof Goh Chee Leok
Interim CEO

FACT OF THE DAY

Your tongue is the sole muscle in your body that is only attached at one end.

national day song :part 2

After the torture that is Reach for the Skies, in the spirit of our national day..here is a song we all can relate and hum to:

Some people say that Singapore is shit but they’re all just fucking jealous
Compared to fucking third-word around us we live in a fucking palace
They say we’re so stuck up and got our noses in the air
But they’re just sad because they got so many bloody terrorists there!

Singapore is wonderful and we are bloody free
It’s ok that we pay tax until got no money
Everybody come together support the PAP
Worst come to worst if you’re feeling repressed we can still drive to JB

I’ve been all over the world and back, the US and UK
Fuck their stupid hamburgers, I’d rather eat tow gay
Seriously here in Singapore we got sambal sting ray
Where else in the world can you eat like such a fucking king anyway?

Ok bloody hell I sing already very fucking long
If I sing some more then scarly sing until my hou long tong
You all get the point, hor, Singapore is king, it’s steady bom bi bi
So the next time people say Singapore is shit, hey at least it’s better than their fucking country.

The same old,same old

  • been in and out of hospital lately. Been visiting Agnes's dad. The least I can do is be supportive to Agnes at this time.
  • Sunny broke down on Sunday while we were in JB. So it kinda ruined what was supposed to have been a day of shopping and eating. Sunny had to be towed to a workshop and I had to go back on Monday to collect it. So sian!
  • But the above did show what good friends I am blessed with. Hasli and Faezah helped out. Ten did too by getting his father-in-law to help us. Esoof's lift into JB on monday and his help with the workshop guy was invaluable. Hasli accompanying me and his presence on Monday was a nice touch. And Agnes..what other superlatives can I use to describe the special woman in my life?
  • Sunny cost RM 685 to repair. A bit much but quite alright if you consider all that they did. Sunny works a treat now. Although the new clutch is kinda different from the old one and will take some getting used to. On the downside, Sunny's speedometer and all are not working after the repairs in JB. Gotta get it repaired this weekend.
  • Kenny has an article about Furong Jiejie on his site. I for one have no idea what the fuss is all about. Looking at her pictures and what she writes,I wonder what the bug deal is all about. Kenny was mean in what he said, but he was also quite right. She does not write particularly well. And she does not look at all attractive...
  • Big Fuck is now ...Rambotan! Haha..geddit? rambo+tan=rambutan??Hahaaa...
  • Xiaxue is on Class 95's BlindDates!! Now, will someone ask her on air about her fascination with penis veins. If not, I am gonna call in....I swear..... maybe...
  • Agnes and I are gonna take some pictures together this National Day holidays! Seems with all the pictures I take, we have very few pictures TOGETHER. Something that will soon be ratified...
  • Batam here we come! Agnes has yet another overseas trip. This time to batam sometime next month. This time we are gonna extend it and actually spend time together...instead of doing our own individual stuff while there (see: our JB and Bangkok trips).
  • Tomorrow marks the 60th anniversary of the nuclear attack on August 6, 1945 upon Hiroshima. A dark day in the annals of history. It is believed that more than 140,000 people died by the end of the year. They were citizens including students, soldiers and Koreans who worked in factories within the city. The total number of people who have died due to the bomb is estimated to be 200,000. And coincidentally it also ushered in the end of the Second World War...
  • What a week in the world! Typhoons, earthquakes, floods, terrorism in the UK seemingly crippled in the aftermath of the bungled bombings on on July 21 . Seems like new diseases and viruse have come out of nowhere to once again rear their ugly heads. Just when it seemed peace in Gaza was imminent things went to hell. Nuclear talks regarding North Korea in six-nation negotiations that also involve China, Japan, Russia, South Korea and the United States, dragging them into an 11th day, with no resolution in sight.
  • Camou is pretty much the same as the last time I blogged about him.
  • My tank keeps clouding up. No idea why that is. Probably some sort of surface algae ..or not.
  • Noel and Paula are still together after everything is said and done.
  • Nadia and Bruce are still together after everything is said and done.
  • Agnes and I have booked a place for guitar classes. Finally....
  • More stuff I love and do not love so much about Agnes. Agnes has threatened to write a piece about me too!
  • One of the downsides of democracy is best illustrated by Indonesia and the Philippines. They keep changing their leaders. Nary a prime minister or president has a term in office without accusations of corruption and calls for their impeachment. And if the said leader comes down hard on corruption, his/her lackeys start to get edgy and swear allegiance to someone else and ask for his/her impeachment. It is like an endless cycle where leaders play musical chairs. How I long for the dictatorships of Ferdinand Marcos and Sukarno/Suharto. At least then stuff got done without 'democracy' getting in the way of progress.
  • It is Singapore's 40th birthday this Tuesday. After all is said and done, this is still my home and this is where I lived all my life. HUPPY BURPDAY SINGAPUREEEEEE!!!
  • I notice that people love relationship-like stuff on my blog. The post that get the most comments and responses are the ones about me and Agnes. No one seems to give a shit about all the other stuff that I write here. Herein lies the dilemma: How do I give my readers what they like without compromising the intergrity and trust of our relationship? I have second thoughts laying bare our dirty laundry here. So left with a choice, I would rather leave certain things unsaid...
  • Oooh...I love kisses and hugs btw....
  • Not from guys though...
  • ..and not from just any girl either...
  • the kisses and hugs I love the most...
  • are from my dearie....
  • sweetie-poo...
  • honey bunny...
  • hot mama in the sack....
  • AGNES!!
  • YAYYY!!!!
  • Planning to go JB again soon with the guys... lotsa food places to explore.... hopefully Agnes-poo will join us if schedules and time permits...
  • With all the marriage talk in the office lately, gets a guy in the mood to settle down with the lady he loves...
  • Can hardly wait to see Agnes tomorrow.
  • Best part about weekends is being together and spending quality time.
  • Sunny needs a vacuuming and a car wash soon! I have kinda neglected him lately with everything else that has been going on in my life ...
  • Speaking of Sunny, it gets harder each time I send him to a workshop and he comes back all new-like, to get rid of him after that. Imagine spending hundreds of dollars to repair or service a car and then selling him off/scrapping him after that. Heart pain man! But I still maintain that it makes sense to scrap him after his current road tax expires.
  • New cars to consider: Toyota Vios, Hyundai Getz(my pick!), Kia picanto. I am kinda looking for a hatchback, but agnes would prefer a saloon/sedan. Maybe one of each would be fine, thank you.
  • Movies to catch: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Stealth, Wedding Crashers, Crash, Sin City,Bewitched, The Dukes of Hazzard, Must Love Dogs ,Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo ,
King Kong . Wondering how we are gonna fit all that viewing time in though...
