love lost and courage found

On the way back from dinner with Joyce, Jackie messaged me if I was home yet (cue thunder, lightning and creepy music). She asked me where I was and whether I was on a date. She then said she was feeling jealous and all when I told her where I been.
 
I do not wish to be a complete jerk and write something demeaning about Jackie here (again!). We had one of those Talks and we came to the conclusion that we were never meant to be or ever will be. She is cool in someways in that she is sporty and outdoors type. But it goes downhill from then on. I do hope that we can be friends but it seems that the more time we spend together the more she thinks that we can be a couple! It may seem a tad extreme but I rather hurt her now than later.
 
I would think it to be in my best interest not to go out with her anymore and to keep communication between us to the bare minimum.
