Bangkok (not so) Dangerous
here are some pictures from our trip to the capital city of Thailand.
Although it is supposed to be a 4 days/3 nights trip, we actually only had 2 full days in Bangkok.
On friday, we shopped about the MBK Centre and central shopping area.
on saturday, we spent the day at the expansive Chatchuchat Weekend Market.
from our room we overlook the Chao Phraya river and can view a lovely sunset every evening.
a moment of quiet contemplation
saw this huge display at the airport
a memorial to the recently deceased (in January this year actually)Crown Princess, also at the airport
Agnes's favourite part of our hotel room, the television, she would watch MTV China all day just to catch her idol Jay Chou's music videos.
the kids also got a new wardrobe.Liverpool & Barcelona jerseys!
we also stumbled upon the Siam Ocean World. it was ok but nowhere as interesting as other ocean parks we been to.
bull sharks
the view of the big tank where they conduct the show.
there were penguins there as well
there were also sea turtles
not to mention water rats...
white salamanders!
they look so ethereal
there was also a glass bottom boat ride...
we had to wear lifejackets
the indoor area where the boat goes
one of the only significant sightings we had on the glass bottom boat
there were seahorsies
lobsters
alaskan crabs
jellies
and of course... fish
all in all it was an ok trip. but the weather played a major part. it was either raining, or it was too hot on the days we were there. the hotel was fine and the staff friendly and helpful. the delay in our return flight was a bummer. and it seems their route is longer than other airlines. normally a singapore-bangkok trip lasts about an hour and a half, ours was nearly 3 hours!
we did not shop as much as we had expected considering the many good bargains. the main chunk of our expenses went towards food.
