Tigress news
Joyce...
Met her for dinner yesterday. I had planned to go to Buckaroo's but in the end Joyce decided that we should go to Bedok North as she felt like having local food. So typical of the woman. To just decide what has to be done without consulting me first. It would not even be an issue if she had just had the courtesy to ask me first instead of just dropping the sudden change in plans on me when she sauntered in.
I had got off work at 5.30 . Joyce told me she was gonna go home first to change and we would meet up at 8. So I was left with the 'life-altering' decision to either go home first or just hang around town til 8. I opted for the latter.
I drove to Sembawang, Jalan Mempurong to be more precise. I had been wanting to check out the latest developments at The Bottle Tree Club there. It turns out that it is still being constructed and a work in progress. I also took the opportunity to take a walk to the beach. Following the downfall earlier, the ground was rather soggy and muddy in places. Not much to see or do.
I then drove to the car park at Sembawang End. I just parked and reclined the seat to take a nap. Just about then two angels appeared, namely my beloved Lyn and Rachelle. It was so nice to just hear from Lyn. She was in town and was wondering where I was. We smsed to and fro as is our habit. It feels good when someone thinks of you. *sigh*
Rachelle actually called me on the mobile. She was apologetic that she was unable to meet me up that day. She was not feeling too good and was going to see the sinseh. At least she bothered to call. I really appreciate her consideration.
At round about 7 I set off once again, this time I took a tour of the Sembawang, Woodlands and Admiralty area. It may not sound very interesting to the reader but I enjoyed it in a perverse sort of way.
Pretty soon it was time to fetch the Queen from her palace. When I got there Joyce had not yet come down so I parked and took the lift up. Just as I got out of the lift I heard the familiar sound of a door opening. It was Joyce. A vision of loveliness...
She was more animated than usual on the way to dinner. She talked about her day and about just everything else. How i wish she could always be this way. In many ways she is still the same girl I fell in love with all those years ago. Yet now she is also different. She does not smile or laugh as much. I guess discontent and yearning for things you do not have can do that to you.
We ordered noodle, chicken wings and satay at Bedok North. After dinner we drove to Changi Point for a walk and ice-cream. It was good just talking and being together without getting at each others throats for once.
After it was all said and done I drove Joyce home. I walked her to her door and she gave me a bag of goldfish biscuits.
