Day 3 of Leon's Sabbathical- wild and wet
Picked Joyce up from her place in the morning and made our way to Pasir Ris. We were gonna go to Wild Wild Wet at Downtown East. We got there at around 10 plus, shortly after they opened for the day. Got into a slight tiff with Joyce because she was going on about how much money I should put into the Funkey and how we should go about the various rides. *yawn*
The weather forecast said there would be rain in the afternoon which was why we were there bright and early. The problem was the weather was good..too good. Neither of us packed suntan lotion or sunblock and the sun was out in all its glory. Most of the rides were not covered much to Joyce's chagrin. She wondered aloud why they did not build shades and covered rides. Duh!
Most of the rides were fun. I especially enjoyed the Slide-Up. It is of those rides where you careen down a smooth slope with the full force of gravity.
Also fun was the Yakult Professor's Playground. Although it was meant for kids primarily, the adults had as much fun if not more. There is something about spraying water on the 'other kids' that brings out the kid in all of us. There were like taps and water guns which you can direct at perfect strangers. So that was what we did. As the saying goes, do unto others as you want them to do unto you. We were on the receiving end of drenchings as well. The other highlight was the huge Yakult can which tips over when full. When the bell tolls people start to gather at the base and once the can is near full.....SPLASH!! It tips over and all its contents come crashing down on the hapless people below!
There Joyce reared her ugly head (which otherwise is quite nice to behold),and brought up again about the Funkey thing and how we shoulda rented the floats at the end...yadda..yadda..yadda. The thing is we managed to do all the rides at least twice and have a decent lunch with the amount I put in the Funkey. I do not understand what the fuss is all about . Joyce is a control freak. She needs everything to be in place before she is happy. Sigh.
After changing we went back to my place to rest our tired and baked bodies before going out for dinner in the evening.
For dinner I chose to go to Sistina for my Burfday. We went to Punggol to pick up Leo and then to Tampines to pick up Lynn and Alden. We then made our way to Sistina. The open air carpark was closed for maintainance.Just our luck. We however managed to park down the road near the private housing. I opted to sit al fresco (meaning on the outside). Being a humid night and with the light drizzle it turned out to be an unwise choice. It was much cooler inside. The food was good if a little expensive. The main courses though took a little too long to come.
After dinner, we drove around a bit as is the tradition in my family(why??why?? why??) before heading to Punggol where we were to cut the birthday cake and all.*groan*
Then headed to home sweet home for a bit. Before i sent Joyce home.
