The CPF Housing Grant is a housing subsidy to assist primarily first-timer citizen married couples to buy a resale flat from the open market. The grant can be used for the initial downpayment of to reduce the housing loan quantum for purchase of the resale flat.

Select Flat
If your application is shortlisted, you will be invited to book a flat. If your queue number exceeds the number of flats offered for booking, your chances of selecting a flat will depend on the availability and ethnic quota when your turn is due.
(An option fee by cash, cheque or NETS. The booking fee will be refunded if you have sufficient money in your CPF Ordinary Account to pay the downpayment.)

Sign Agreement For Lease
You will be invited to sign the Agreement for Lease within 3 months from the date of booking of the new flat.

If you have selected a completed flat, i.e. flat already built, you will be invited to collect the keys to the new flat within 3 months from the date of booking of the new flat.
(- Balance the purchase price of the flat booked, by Cash or CPF or a combination of both.
- If you are eligible for an HDB concessionary rate loan, you may be given a loan up to the housing loan ceiling, subject to full usage of funds from your CPF Ordinary Account and credit assessment.
- If you intend to pay the monthly instalments partially or fully by cash, you will have to submit a completed GIRO application form before we grant you a loan. If we did not receive the completed GIRO application form on and before the appointment for keys collection, we may withdraw the letter of offer and you will have to find alternative financing for the purchase.)

Since 19 July 2005, the downpayment is reduced from 20% to 10% of the purchase price of the flat. The housing loan ceiling is raised from 80% to 90% of the purchase price of the flat. The revised downpayment and housing loan ceiling will apply to applicants who have selected a flat on or after 19 July 2005.

Courting couples who intend to get married may apply under the Fiance/Fiancee scheme. You must produce your Marriage Certificate at the estimated Delivery Possession Date of the flat or 3 months after you have taken possession of the new flat, whichever is later.
