Poor Rafa. Like Jose Mourinho, he has crossed the boss and we know how that ended up. Be a pity as I can see Liverpool are slowly but surely making strides towards reclaiming their premiership crown. In fact they may just be able to do it this season as they are well placed to take advantage of any slip-ups by the teams ahead of them. But a change of manager mid season can be detrimental to their title aspirations. Unless they have another high profile manager in line to take over. As it stands now, Liverpool do not quite have anyone standing by to take over the reins should Rafa be sacked.

And what is there to say about England? They only needed a draw against Croatia in their penultimate Euro qualification match, but in the end lost 3-2. McClaren was sacked and now there is a national inquisition into where England went wrong. I think the main problem is with the FA. The appointment of Steve McClaren as England manager was crocked from the beginning. He lacked all the experience and credentials at club level let alone at international level. Hope they do better with their next appointment.

Jose Mourinho has expressed a willingness to talk to the FA. He should be a good fit to instill a will to win and to keep all those big egos in check.
Guus Hiddink is a possibility. Fabio Capello & Louis van Gaal too. Then there are all the usual suspects like Martin O'Neil, Sam Allardyce, Mark Hughes et al.
All in, England need a manager with the experience and tactical acumen to lead England out of the doldrums they find themselves in. As well as the man managerial skills to pick and bring out the best out of the players at his disposal.

Newcastle are slowly and surely getting better under the tutelage of Big Sam. But results on the pitch are all that matters in the modern game, and Newcastle are falling behind in that regard. Two heavy home defeats and a lowly 11th position later, the Toons have a long way to go if they ever hope to challenge at the top of the league table any time soon.But these things take time. And so far we have seen this season that time and money is a rare luxury in the English Premier League.


Monk has been missing since the 17th. Miss him so much. No idea how he could have gotten lost in the first place. A sad chain of events leading to a needless loss of a unique cat. One thing is for sure, there will never be another Monk. Agnes misses him badly too...

Lollie and Lobang are growing up fast. From 2 little hairless,pink moving masses, they are now grown into two lovable, furry lumps of joy. I have grown especially fond of Lollie. Lollie is the more trusting and easier to handle of the 2 kits. Lobang on the other hand is a bundle of attitude which always earns a place in my heart.

Still contemplating what to do next as far as Sunny goes. KIA's $99 deal ends by end of December. So I have to decide before then if I am getting a new car or to renew Sunny's road tax. Meanwhile I been looking around at various car models and comparing prices. On the other hand I have been looking to start my own business eventually, so a company vehicle would be required. A Renault Kangoo was my initial target, but recently I have fallen for the Fiat range,specifically the Fiat Doblo and Panorama.

Singapore has been grouped with Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan and Lebanon in Group D of World Cup qualification. Singapore is in the enviable position of having nothing to lose and everything to play for. Public expectation is low and no one actually expects Singapore to proceed to the next round , let alone win any of their games. The 3 home games should be fun and Singapore do have the potential to pull off an upset or two, and add a scalp or 2 along the way.
FIFA has already set the dates for the third stage qualification matches for February 6, March 26, June 7, June 14, September 6 and September 10.
