the Great Beyond
it is now officially official, we will be going to Hong Kong on Sunday morning. We only got the confirmation this evening and ever since then it has been a mad rush to get things in order before we leave. With only 2 full days before Sunday, we have to go get stuff for the trip, tie up all the loose ends at work and pack our bags. The flight itself leaves at about 8.30 am, so we will have to be at the airport round about 7, so it is gonna be quite an ordeal.
I will be in HK until the 2oth, whereas Agnes returns on the 23rd.
This trip also means that I will not be able to celebrate Mother's Day in Singapore, nor will I be able to make it for Drayden's 1 month party next Saturday.
Then following shortly after that it is the long, long trip to Berlin. Not that we will be in Berlin for any length of time, but rather the trip may prove our undoing. Agnes is already moaning and groaning about the journey before we have even stepped onto the plane. The date's for it have been set and all, so there is no limbo like as for the HK trip. But Agnes has yet to book our plane tickets and here is to hoping that she does it in a timely fashion.
At work, it is a war zone! Never seen so many miserable people gathered all in one place. And it is finally starting to get to me as well. Nary a day goes by without some one misunderstanding another or a clash between management. It all seems so meaningless and so very unnecessary, but yet people choose to persist to make one another's lives a living hell. Been hearing the words 'resign' and 'quit' too often as of late to pay much heed to the ones who utter such rubbish. But as is often the case, such situations separate the men from the boys, and the wheat from the chaff. Maybe after the smoke has cleared and all those that remain standing can gather the spoils of war, and see who will stand up to be counted when it mattered, and who were just mere pretenders. Maybe I will speak more specifically next time on what actually has been going on at the office.
The house is coming along nicely. Most of the lights are up, and the installation of the bathroom are ongoing. Should expect the shower screen, L-box, cabinets and such to be done by next week, and then it is cleaning time. We have been weighing the pros and cons of cleaning the house ourselves or employing some professional help to get the job done.
Anyway I am planning to bring along my laptop to Hong Kong and perhaps even to Berlin should it prove feasible to do so. So do look out for my updates here and all the pretty pictures from Hong Kong and Berlin...

we got rid of the BB interior designer. was taking too long and costing too much. and most importantly, she was not reliable. so we got a new one.
