the blog about the aftermath of saturday

Hmm...where to start?

I guess by now all of you know that AGNES and I are officially an item. (music plays in the background, butterflies and birds flutter around, the heavens open and a ray of light filters down upon us all, all is right in the world)

*tries hard to remember all that transpired over the last few days*

friday: watched Ray with Agnes at Lido Classic. I quite enjoyed it. Jamie Foxx was quite brilliant in it. Wow! Floored by his convincing portrayal of Ray Charles. The movie was a little on the long side. It crossed the 2 hour mark and then some. But I guess that comes with the territory with biopics.

After the movie we wandered abit around Shaw House and went to the supermarkets to get some 'essentials' before heading back to the car.

We then drove to Mount Faber. The upper level of the look out point (where the merlion is) was gonna open today so we wanted to be amongst the first to see it. When we got there it was open but obviously it was a work in progress with all the construction equipment strewn all over. As usual the view was dreamy on both fronts (the one facing Pulau Bukom and the other one overlooking the City). It also helped that it was a cool night after a rain earlier in the day. A cool breeze was blowing which made our trip that much more enjoyable.

It was getting late and we started to head back home. I did have to work the next day but it was one of those nights that you did not want to end. I parked at her block and we walked over to the nearby coffeeshop to have dinner cum supper.

Walked her back to her block.

Went straight home.

Saturday: Worked in the morning. All went well once more. I am on a winning streak so to speak. So far all my cashiering duties have come and gone without event, which is a good thing.

After work headed home. Did some 'work' on my PC then tried to take a nap till about 5.

Did not sleep at all but still I got some respite and felt better after the rest.

Went to pick Agnes up from her place.

We drove down to Cosy Bay at Tanjong Rhu for dinner. Was rather quiet for a saturday night. We ordered our food and drinks and sat at the second tier. For those of you that do not know Cosy Bay is like a lighthouse tower where diners can sit at the various levels(ground level up till 3rd level). It overlooks the kallang river has has a nice view in my..*duh*...view. Was another windy night. There runs the risks of serviettes and cutlery getting swept away in the gusts of wind to the waters down below.

It was at dusk so whilst waiting for our orders to arrive, we watched the sun set over East Coast park from our vantage point. Nice. took some pics with my camera phone (or is it phone camera?).

The food was ok.

We then sat around a bit with our drinks before heading back to the car park. Did i mention that the parking costs $5? Exhorbitant! The upside is that it is redeemable if your order AT COSY BAY is above $15. I just wonder why they even bother charging if most if not all the people who park there are patrons of Cosy Bay. I am also quite sure all of them have bills which exceed $15. Which in effect makes charging for parking an exercise in futility since the only person who benefits from it is the parking attendant guy who gets paid to collect money that will be reimbursed later on. And it is not like it is a proper carpark. It is basically a square block of land with lines drawn on it. For $5!

After dinner we drove over to Marina South again. this time I brought Agnes to the area nearer the Esplanade and Marina side. It affords a better view and...
Anyway we climbed over the railings and sat down by the waters. Once more Agnes was wearing along skirt which made it difficult to navigate to ...errrmm.... the other side.

We had a good long chat.

The place smelled of dead fish I think.

Had a good chat whilst smelling dead fish.

Sent her home.

And that was how Leon and Agnes became a couple. Not quite. That story deserves a blog all of its own.

Sunday:
Had to wake up early just because I was attending the 2nd service. Woke up rather early and had trouble getting back to sleep. Was dead beat but had to make it through the day. First order of business was to go pick Faith from her place. I also topped up petrol at the nearby petrol station before driving to the bus stop to meet Faith. I waited at the wrong bus stop and wondered why Faith was taking so long to come down . Faith was already at the CORRECT bus stop around the bend. I ventured forward and true enough she was there. Drove to SUNTEC via TPE and ECP. Got there on time. Service started late as Pastor Prince was preaching and the service started approximately 1/2 hour later than the time allocated.

Did I mention I was deadbeat? Kinda explained my muted response at service. Faith commented I looked so serious. Hee hee

After service we had a quick bite at Just Noodles. I also had a longan/tofu dessert. I was aiming for the white fungus one but it was out of stock. This brought about the extreme gourmet side of Faith as she talked about slugs, monkey brains and live octopuses among others with regards to Fear Factor, Extreme Gourmet and Faces of Death.

After lunch we headed back to Pasir Ris. Sent faith to White Sands where she was gonna collect some prints.

Drove home.

Changed and prepared Camou for his big day.

It was Chihuahua Lover's Club outing at the Botanic Gardens. I been wanting to bring Camou for it for a while now but never quite got around to it for some reason or another until today. There were quite a few Chihuahua's there. I assumed Camou would feel right at home among his kind. How wrong I was. He was so timid running and hiding from all the other dogs.

I was quite taken aback by how much bigger and different Camou looks from all the other wawas. Although those we saw today were probably related anyway hence how they have some resemblance to one another. But obviously Camou has genes that are different from the other wawas. But that does not mean I will stop taking him to meet the others of his kind. He is still a wawa no matter wat people say.

It was quite a sight seeing a 'tribe of chihuahua's' as one park goer commented as our band of owners and pets made our way from the visitor centre to the Swan lake side. I guess no other breed of dog elicits such a response from people quite like a chihuahua can, what more nearly 20 of them!

We settled by the Swan Lake area and had a picnic of sorts as the dogs played together. Chi's are quite playful active dogs in constant motion. So watching then run and play is so much fun! Camou kept to himself for the most part. The only non-human he took a liking to was Alice an older Chihuahua. Other than that he was his usual protective, defensive self trying to keep the other dogs from getting too close to his territory (namely: me). As the day wore on he began to interact more and more with the other dogs. He had an ongoing feud with Dede, who I assume is the matriach of the wawa group.

Took lotsa pictures which I will post in due time.

We took a walk back to the visitor centre via an alternative route.

Got into Sunny...drove home.
