Zoo in no particular order.
I'm ready
I'm ready for the gridlock
I'm ready...to take it to the street
I'm ready for the shuffle
Ready for the deal
Ready to let go of the steering wheel
I'm ready
Ready for the crush
Time is a train
Makes the future the past
Leaves you standing in the station
Your face pressed up against the glass
Started the day off with me driving over to pick up Nadia from her place. We then drove down to Prata Point for breakfast. Nadia had cheese plaster (a special order not on the menu I might add) and I had 3 kosong.I drank teh halia while nads had lemon barley.
After brekkie, we headed down to the zoo. Yippie! *does cartwheels*
There was a CNY performance on at the entrance plaza.Lion dances and stuff. We took some pictures there.
We then went in the zoo proper. It was already quite crowded by then but wemanaged to make our rounds. One highlight was the so-called elephant painting session at the Elephants of Asia exhibit. We rushed there as we had wanted to see it being done. Really nice pieces. The art works that is!
What I really enjoyed about going to the zoo with nadia was that she and I share the same interests and do not mind spending time at each exhibit. Normally when I bring guest to the zoo they tend to rush through it spending at most 3 minutes at each one . As for me, I just love to sit in front of an enclosure and just watch the animals going through their day. You never can tell when or what they are gonna do something. At least I know who to call if ever I wanna just 'chill' at the zoo.
Another highlight for me was Rohan. Although we had both been at the zoo at the same time when I was there we had not really spoken until today. He seems like a really nice, personable guy. No wonder the girls love him. I also really enjoyed his presentation of The Creatures of the Night show at the Night Safari. It was laugh out loud hilarious. Not to mention he was under the weather which makes it all the more commendable. I told him so after the show but he said I was only being diplomatic.
Nadia and I also had a 'deep' discussion whilst at the kangaroo exhibit pertaining to kangaroo testes and mating positions. So now I helpfully got some pictures of them Roo's doing the deed:
Interesting facts: The male’s penis is prehensile so it can get around the female’s large tail. Copulation lasts up to fifteen minutes. Way to go Joe!
More interesting facts: Male kangaroos have forked penises, and their testicles lie in the front of their penis, not the back like most every other mammal. So how does a willing female kangaroo accomindate such a weird penis? Turns out female kangaroos have two uteri and two vaginas! They get to double their pleasure, not to mention doubling their fun!
I love the new show area used for the Creatures of the Night Show. It looks better and seats more than the crappy old one at the NS entrance.
Nadia and I went out to the zoo entrance plaza as we waited for natt to come out. Ordered drinks from KFC and sat down near the Ben & Jerry's. Later on Natt joined us and we had another round of drinks and also some cheese fries and a wrap.
After that we walked over to the NS to meet Rohan and get the complimentary pass from the reception for my car.
Took lotsa pictures, we both did. Unfortunately our batteries were unable to last the course otherwise we woulda taken more pictures.
We got to the zoo around 10.30 am and left around 6+.Amazingly we did not complete the entire zoo. If I am not wrong we missed the Childrens World as well as the various feedings and the 2.30 animal show. Which only goes to show how long we need to explore the entire zoo and do all the stuff we like to do.
Managed to get some good pictures as well as some utterly horrible ones. Coming to think of it I do not have a picture of the 3 of us together!
Back to Roos. They have such long dangly balls! Saw one actually lick his own. I could not do that. Also saw a Malayan Sunbear do the same thing.
They must be mating like rabbits. everytime I cum..err...come...they seems to have even more roos. I estimate at least 70 roos in the enclosure.
Lotsa babies too.saw baby rhinos.baby chimps.babies everywhere. looks like some singaporeans are really taking the governments call to procreate seriously.maybe the government should adopt some animals as mascots for their pro-family campaigns.
After NS sent the gals home.
Their dad claims he does not know who I am. I even sat in his car once not to mention the numerous times we met outside the zoo entrance when he came by to pick the gals up.
The area around the gibbons clogged up with water hyacinth's.looks like a field on the water's surface. wonder if any animals tried to walk on it thinking it to be solid ground. Even saw a duck stranded in the middle of the pond surrounded by the plants. Poor duck. Wonder if he managed to get out in the end.
