scattered rain with thunderstorms
Last night I stayed up to write one of those poems cum lyrics that I spoke about yesterday. I wrote like a full page. And I personally think it came out quite well in the end. Problem was when I ran a spell check the entire screen FROZE. So I had no choice but to close the page. As I had not backed-up what I had written I lost it all. I wrote it all on the spot and put down in writing (so to speak) whatever came to mind. It is a writing process that can never be duplicated by me. Meaning that the next time I write it will come out looking and sounding completely different, dealing with a different subject matter from a different angle.
*sigh*
Today went to the zoo with Marcus and Lisa. Was fun all in all. Good thing the weather held,it did not rain as we had feared. In fact it was a cool day throughout. Managed to takes lots of good pictures which I will post on Flickr in due time.
But I was really pooped from the weekends activities and really had to drag myself out of bed to make it on time to fetch the 2 of them. That played a part in me not being as lively or enthusiastic as I would be under normal circumstance when I go to the zoo. In one of those days where you spend so much time walking and taking pictures that we did not really see all the exhibits despite being there for what was nearly 6 hours. I never tire of taking pictures of animals though. Each time I go there I always return with a card load of pictures.
We had lunch at KFC. Was so hungry.
After the zoo we had ice-cream at Ben & Jerry's at the zoo entrance. And then we stayed to chat for a bit before heading back to Sunny. I drove with the intention to send Lisa and then Marcus home since they did not have the faintest idea what to do next. Half way there someone proposed we go to Chinatown to sample the 'famous; congee which resulted in me having to make a huge detour to get from Bukit Batok to New Bridge Road. So much so that Marcus fell asleep most of the journey there.
We parked at Chinatown Complex and had a nice congee dinner followed by a walk through Chinatown streets with Lisa as our guide.
I then sent Marky Boy home, before sending Lisa to Jurong East to get some stuff from a friend. I then sent her home before finaly, finally getting home myself. I think we all had a good time. Although I do feel a tad sorry for Lisa who had to put up with 2 animal-obsessed photographers who spent 10 to 15 mins at each exhibit. Such is the price of her lack of interest in animals.
