love shines

On saturday me and agnes went to catch the big match between singapore and malaysia. been a while since i last been to a live match, let alone one of this significance. it was so nice of agnes to accompany me despite her not really being a footie fan.ad not being 100% fit for it. but there are few things in life that compares to being live at the national stadium . the atmosphere is electrifying at times. The kallang roar is when you see both the best and worse of singaporeans. singapore beat the tigers in penalties to proceed to the finals and face mighty thailand.

yesterday singapore and thailand locked horns in the first leg of the ASEAN championship finals. Noh alam shah scored in the 17 minute to bring the crowd to life. thailand pulled even early on in the 2nd half.
but the real talking point was the penalty awarded to singapore in the 82nd minute for a foul on noh alam shah. It was one of those 50/50 balls and the decision could have gone either way. The slow motion replays were no help. we still have a long way to go to catch up with the EPL.anyway following the awarding of the penalty, the entire thai team stormed off the pitch in protest. This held up play for nearly 15 minutes. in football the refs make mistakes. that is part and parcel of the game. whether it was the right or wrong decision by referee is up for debate. but there is a place and time for such issues. to protest by leaving the field of play is not the right way of doing things. I do hope the AFC takes firm action against the FAT (lol...the Football Association of Thailand....). Such bad sportmanship should be banished from sport, let alone in the finals of the regions premier international championship between the 2 kingpins of ASEAN football.
Now Singapore has to go over to Bangkok to play the 2nd leg of the finals. It is gonna be interesting to say the least. But this singapore side has more steel than most. Raddy has really instilled self-belief and a worksmanlike atitude into his young team. Singapore may lead 2-1, but I think the hardest 90 minutes is ahead of them on Sunday. Go Lions! Go!

In other news, my foot still hurts from my mishap last week. not badly but still you can feel it at times when i walk too briskly or my foot twists in an awkward angle. me is oso(sic)experiencing flu-like symptoms. not a real flu...but accompanying headaches, cough and runny nose. I got a shock at the amount of phelgm i expelled this morning. But otherwise i am fine.

I endeavour to jog and work out more. Agnes seems to have like forgotten completely about our weekly jogs. I set out to jog on either saturdays or sundays whenever possible and also do some weight work on weekdays. of course as with everything to do with me, it is subject to change! i may also find time to jog after work on weekdays or maybe even go down to the under-utillised gym at MND after work sometimes.

I also thinking(sic...again) to cut down on the time i spend in front of my computer monitor. and hopefully spend that time doing more meaningful things with my day. I generally spend all the time from the time I get home until I retire for the night in front of my laptop. amazingly i still find I have little time to blog or do many of the things i would like to. but some things are easier said than done.

Rusty seems to prefer to stay in the upper 2 cages and the hideout that connects to the lower tank. She has not ventured down since the day I put her into her new home. In fact she has even stuffed the tube that leads into the lower tank with wood shavings. I wonder if it has anything to do with the premature deaths of the previous 2 occupants that used to reside in that tank.

I feel like getting more hammies. I now have 1 syrian and 3 winter whites. feel kinda empty in my room with so few hamsters. but i think it is also for the best, as agnes seems to have some sort of allergy to hamster fur. so lesser hams = lesser ah-choo's!

Hopefully this weekend, agnes and I can get down to watching some nice DVD's or VCD's in the comfort of my room. we not made plans yet for this weekend, but it should be good. Tomorrow we are scheduled to go down to Chinatown to check out the chinese new year stuff. Agnes does it as some sort of annual ritual, so this year we do it together, as all good couples should. We also intend to go to the River Hong Bao too. For some reason Agnes has never been to one of the annual CNY river parties. so this year heralds a couple of first for us.

Looks like the marriage preparation thing is stillborn.

Oh yeah...CHOCOLATE FONDUE!! maybe we can do that this saturday too.

human decency.
Looks like some people do not know what it is. Just because you may not like a person, that does not mean whenever that particular person falls ill or takes MC you get all happy and wish death upon them. You do not gossip about it. You do not accuse that person of malingering or say that the person deserves to be sick. I hope anyone that does any of the above gets back in return...double or even triple the pain and sickness. may your suffering be long and your pain agonising.
thank you.

Noel asks me if I am interested to go to Borneo with him in June. It is one of those trips to an orang utan sanctuary. it is cool. never done something like that before. i did not say yes. but i did not say no either. I am keen to go but I gotta see if I can get leave and if things work out on my end at work. and...i wonder how agnes would cope in a mosquito infested forest for 4 days....for curiousities sake.
