a brief update

• Yesterday met up with Agnes for dinner. Did not go to church because of the IT fair at SUNTEC. It turned out to be a wise decision in the end, as it was even more packed on Sunday than it was on Saturday. After much deliberation, we settled on having dinner at East Coast Food Centre. By the time we got there the place was already buzzing and we were unable to find a table. So we da bao-ed some sambal stingray, vege, rojak,sugar cane juice and chilli mollusc(?). We then strolled down to near one of the BBQ pits and opened up the various packages. I must say that it was a most enjoyable meal. I really enjoyed the food, the seabreeze and of course the company. We must do something like that again. Talk about turning lemons into lemonade.
• The Jewel Box replied me! It took them sometime, but evenyually they sent me the much awaited e-mail.

Not bad at all....

• Today, after work I went down to NUS to pick up my dearie. We then headed to the airport for Merry Brown's. As luck would have it they were renovating it and hence there was neither Merry, nor was there any Brown. So we had dinner at Burger King instead. I think the airport is a good place to people-watch and have good long chats. After dinner proper we took a 'short' walk over to the McDonald's at the other end of the terminal for some ice-cream. Then it was back to the set of wheels and then homeward bound.
• On saturday Agnes bought me a pair of Levi's 508 jeans. It was supposed to be something in the way of a belated anniversary gift. Finally a pair of jeans that is not too tight!! Yippie!!
• the automobile association sent me yet another form to submit for my membership. This time I am signing up for the 3 year plan. In fact I wonder why they do not just make you a new card once you renew your membership instead of having to submit an application and then receiving a letter to submit your photos and then waiting for your card to be sent to you. Shouldn't they like have a database of customer info and photographs? Or even like get you to do it online or come down personally to submit the forms and get the card made on the spot?
• Another grouse is the damn bloody IT fair. Whether it is held at SUNTEC or at Singapore Expo it draws huge crowds. So why don't the organisers hold it as 2 different venues instead of one? Or even make it like a week long event, instead of the 3 days thing on weekends it is now. At least at the Singapore Expo the problem is merely huge crowds. But at SUNTEC City it literally brings the entire Marina Bay area to a virtual standstill. Marina Bay has a number of hotels,shopping centres and other such places. Unlike Orchard which is well served by buses and trains, Marina Bay's nearest MRT is at City Hall. So whenever an event of this scale is held at SUNTEC, all the carparks and roads are filled to the gills. And getting there via public transport is quite a hassle despite what the authorities may say on the issue.
• Gotta get around to cleaning out the hamsters and rabbits cages. The rabbits really pee and poop alot. It is been barely a week and already their cages are a mess. At least with the hamsters I may even stretch cleaning sessions to 2 to 3 weeks apart. No such luck with rabbits though.
• Went to Animal Resort at Seletar West today as I was doing my rounds in the area. My main intention was to look for some sort of ramp or platform for Scruffy's cage. I got around to looking at the animals there. i must say the rabbits colony there are really breeding like...ummm....rabbits. I saw at least 3 different litters of various ages in the pens there. I think the owners should be a bit more responsible in the breeding of the rabbits. But really, the little uns are sooooo cute...... *squeeze cheeks*
• I need to cut my finger and toes nails pronto.
