The Lorong of Broken Dreams

Yesterday, we brought the bunnies to the vet. It was under the pretense of Muffy's medical review. I took some time off from work. The main problem was the timing of their opening hours (2pm to 4.30pm & 6.30 to 8.30pm). So by the time I picked Agnes up from school it was too late for the former and too early for the latter. We stopped by Thomson Plaza for Ya Kun as Agnes was feeling rather peckish. Then we headed back to my place to rest for a bit, and prepare the rabbits for their appointment. We got to Mt Pleasant just past 6. We registered Muffy and even chatted with a nice lady who had brought her geriartric canine to the vet. Finally it was the Muffsters turn. Muffy got a clean bill of health. So he is now officially off his medications and special diet. Scruffy also got himself(or rather 'herself') checked out for its curious ear condition wherein Scruff's left ear is always found in a gravitationally challenged state. The vet found nothing actually wrong with Scruffy and his condition may be just due to laziness or some quirk. We also attempted to get them both sexed conclusively. Tentatively Muffy is a boy and Scruffy is a female. But that is not quite cast in stone yet.

After sending the bunnies home after the vets, we drove to bedok to meet Agnes's folks. They were going to Perak yet again. This time there was a spare tyre in the form of the 'auntie'. I found it amusing the stuff she brought with her for this trip. I do hope things go smoothly for them. After sending off the folks, we had dinner at Thien Kee Steamboat.

Today was mostly a shopping day. We were on the lookout for a pair of slippers for Agnes, and a pair of jeans and Nike shoes for me. We did manage to find the slippers and jeans after some ado. The shoes will have to wait until next time. Had dinner at Kenny Rogers. Today was also the IT and Computer fair at SUNTEC. There was also a myriad of travel fairs going o concurrently. Needless to say The Marina Bay was packed to the gills. We ended up parked at the Esplanade, which was just about the only place one could find parking in the vicinity. Our search was mainly in the SUNTEC and Marina Square areas, but ended up in the CityLink for Agnes's slippers. By the time we reached the Esplanade it was already past 4 pm so we missed out on the TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) meet-and-greet. After dinner we headed back to the car and went back to my house. We fed the bunnies and observed them for a bit, then it was back to my room for a short nap until it was time to send Agnes home. *frown*

Been thinking about...

.... whether it is wise to resign and start my own business. And how things will be. And how to come up with the funds to make my future shop viable.

....... whether to go church tomorrow. knowing the IT fair is on it is gonna be really crowded to park and move around. Butthen there is always public transport.

..... wonder how much performance bonus I will get this month. I normally get a full month...

...... then there is the installment of annual bonus in July. Which I will not be entitled if I resign in June as planned.

....... driving up to Perak. Gonna be a challenge I will relish. It is certainly gonna be more taxing than the KL and Pahang trips I been doing thus far.

......... saw some really cute bunnies at Pet Village just now.

....... how short SMS form words creep into our written word. =hw shrt SMS fm crp in2 ur wrttn word :P

..... a post about places I wanna go. Inspired by Agnes's question about my 'Dream place to visit'.

.... how it is gonna be at the office with Wong Chee keong and Sin gone. And Hasli back, and wang joining us in April. And me by my lonesome holding the fort until the 2 newbies learn the ropes. A problem excaberated by the fact that I have in-camp traing from the 10th to 20th of April. how?? how? how???

....... being like a lovesick puppy when Agnes is not around.

...... to download upload the pictures I took at the River Hong Bao, especially the fireworks display. Took loads of them.

Movie Review of 300

It is one of those films you will remember for quite some time. It plays out like of those Greek tragedies. You know how it is gonna end, but still you go along for the roller coaster ride. The battle scenes are visceral and explicit. There is also the sub plot of politics in the Spartan council and how the dutiful queen tries to overcome prejudice and corruption to get the required reinforcements sent to help her husband and his band of 300 men(hence the title) in their battle against the overwhelming numbers of the combined Persian army numbering...millions!! The cast had to undergo 6 months of intensive physical training to get into shape for their parts, and it shows. They look absolutely buff and look as though they were carved out of stone.
I know a certain someone enjoyed ogling at all the semi-naked male bodies (and there is some nippleage for the guys too!).

RATING: 4 loincloths out of 5, what else??? :P

The song in my head lately is Listen by Beyonce from the Dreamgirls OST. Somehow the lyrics strike a chord with me. And one can really feel Miss Knowles emotions coming through in the vocals.

Listen,
To the song here in my heart
A melody I've start
But can't complete

Listen, to the sound from deep within
It's only beginning
To find release

Oh,
the time has come
for my dreams to be heard
They will not be pushed aside and turned
Into your own
all cause you won't
Listen....

[Chorus]
Listen,
I am alone at a crossroads
I'm not at home, in my own home
And I tried and tried
To say whats on my mind
You should have known
Oh,
Now I'm done believin you
You don't know what I'm feelin
I'm more than what, you made of me
I followed the voice
you gave to me
But now I gotta find, my own..

You should have listened
There is someone here inside
Someone I'd thought had died
Sooo long ago

Ohh I'm free now and my dreams to be heard
They will not be pushed aside on words
Into your arms
All cause you won't
Listen...

[Chorus]

I don't know where I belong
But i'll be movin on
If you don't....
If you won't....

LISTEN!!!...
To the song here in my heart
A melody I've start
But I will complete

Oh,
Now i'm done believin you
You dont know what I'm feelin
I'm more than what, you made of me
I followed the voice, you think you gave to me
But now I gotta find, my own..
my own...
