the homely lion
The flat renovations are finished, and the folks came over to take a look the other day. They seem to like what we have done with the house as it is with the colour scheme and furniture. Still lotsa work ahead to clean the place and to keep it clean. We had opted for black glass surfaces for the dining table, tv console and coffee table. nice to look at, but hard to maintain, as a dust layer forms after a day or two.
We do not intend to move in just yet though, although we do intend to bring some of our stuff over there, and maybe spend some weekends over there in the weeks and months to come.
will take some pictures over there the next time we go over there, probably next saturday.
we plan to wash the bedsheets et al soon so we can place them on the bed. we had bought a set consisting of bedsheet, pillow cases, bolster case and comforter. we also will probably need to invest in some more curtains for the windows. as it stands now we have one brown and two blue curtains which we have mismatched, so that the window in the living room has the brown and blue, and the master bedroom is using the other blue one. quite a sight.
i will also be purchasing a steam iron and maybe even a power vacuum cleaner since we are gonna need those for the flat. Once we start doing the laundry then we are definitely gonna need to iron our office wear. and a vacuum cleaner will indeed come in useful for those hard to clean parts of the house, especially the windows.
The wedding dinner is a little less than 6 months away.
we will be going for a photoshoot on 21st July. was quite an ordeal to get leave to go for it, but in the end my persistence paid off.
After we pay off Mona, our renovation contractor, then we can start to concentrate on our wedding matters and start to save for the dinner. Still much to plan for and decide upon. Gonna be a relieved lion when it is all finally in place. I think this is why some people employ a wedding planner, which really take care of all the nitty gritty details and lets the wedding couple have peace of mind on their special day.
we both have to also start to get in shape. we not jogged together in a couple of years I think. I only just today got back to doing my daily exercises. there is still time to get into shape before december, but we are both not getting any younger, so it gets progressively harder to maintain an acceptable level of fitness, especially after such long lay-offs.
Noel and I endeavoured to jog regularly on his days off, but by the looks of things we will not be partaking in things of that nature any time soon.
seems like everyone is a hater of me and agnes's overseas expeditions. amazing how people can be so resentful of someone elses blessings. it is not as though the holidays were ill-gotten gains or due to some good fortune. agnes had to go over there for work related stuff and I dutifully followed her as any reasonable spouse would do if finances and work commitments allow.
oh...and I failed to mention we will be going to bangkok in august probably.as I had mentioned in this space before, we had won a 4d3n stay at the shangri-la bangkok which we have to redeem before september. now if people hated me for that at least it would be a little more justifiable...
and oh..Joe Augustin is back on morning radio..tomorrow.
Power 98 to be exact.
not exactly a choice destination to be sure. but better than nothing. and perhaps this time we could do with a little less acrimony and a lot more kick ass dj-ing.
