bird on a wire
Much to write since I was last here, but I do not know where to start... but here it goes anyway...
Seems like ever since I started blogging more regularly, my readership and number of comments I received has dipped. Wonder if there is any correlation between the 2.
Was my birthday on Halloween. We (mum, dad, agnes and I ) went to Handle Bar. The place is cool, but the food was so so.
Agnes bought me a DVD player. Yayyy...now can watch DVD's and VCD's in the comfort of my room!!
Parents gave a card and some cash.
Been thinking long and hard about my business venture. Thanks to all those who have been giving me valuable advice and sharing their experience.
Firstly, the vehicle which will be an integral part of my business for getting my goods and distributing it. Almost certainly a Renault Kangoo is the vehicle of choice.
Then, the small matter of a name of my little company. Been tossing about a few ideas. Initially I was thinking of something that includes 'Lion' or 'Whitelion' since those titles are virtually synonymous with my online presence. But maybe something which sounds more official sounding and appropriate to my business venture might be called for instead.
Then there is the issue of what exactly my venture will be. One part of me wants to specialise in one area (e.g. pet shop, pet goods & accessories), yet another part of me wants to pursue a wider scope of things (e.g. cameras, video games, computer hardware, books, pet stuff, toys, collectibles etc). But there is still time to iron out the details. Another case of whether to put all my eggs in one basket,or spread my resources to cast a wider net.
And then there is the decision to make between a physical shop or an online one. An online shop would be cheaper but I am limited by the number of people visiting my site or viewing my products. On the other hand, a physical shop would involve more capital, rentals and upfront liquid assets. At this point it would seem that an online shop would be the better option. I can work from home and such. And less to pay for owning and maintaining a store.
There is also the third option of one of those pushcarts you see at shopping centres. But those are not too cheap either, especially in the bigger shopping centres.
On a lighter note, re-arranged my room yet again. This time the bed occupies the area in the middle of the room.all the stuff that was behind the bed are now lined up along the wall by the door. I think it is better now. At least Agnes will feel more roomy on the bed. *snigger*
Also found one of my hammies dead yesterday. Probably a victim of a grisly attack. I am still not sure if it was Momo or not. But most likely it was. *sob* By the time I found it it was already beyond recognition. My hamster colony is now smaller after all the recent adoptions. All my cages and tanks can now fit on the shelf, for the first time!
Gonna collect a pleco from my good pal K H Chan (no idea what his first name is though). Funny when people want you to call them by their surnames all the time. He lives in Toa Payoh, so I will drop by tomorrow after work to collect.
My briefing for my Israel trip is this Wednesday. I am so looking forward to it. But the lack of details is telling. I have no idea yet what flight I will be taking to and fro, nor what time I depart on the 20th nor arrive on the 29th. Only time will tell...
Agnes and I plan a trip up North in December. Hopefully it comes to pass, as Agnes has been busy the last few months. There has been a blackout of leave-taking in December due to the upcoming Flower Festival, so we will probably have to make do with one of the weekends in early December. Unless...
