National Day Rally Speech

Yesterday was the live broadcast of the National Day Rally Speech by our new Prime Minister Bg Gen. Lee Hsien Loong.

Not too bad to say the least. He came across as articulate and humorous. It seems the P.R. machine is in full swing. Lotsa contentious issues came up for discussion as is usually the case in National day speeches. Remain to be seen if the government puts the money where its mouth is.

And it was the longest speech in memory. Gosh!!

skates and babes

Thursday

After my mandarin class, went to Queensway to look at some inline skates. Saw a few possibles.

Friday

Have no freaking idea what I did after work. to be KIV'ed...

Saturday

Met Hasli after his work (I was off!!). Went to the Casuarina Prata Restaurant near my place for lunch. After that we dropped by East Coast Park. Hasli had never been to Bedok Jetty before, poor boy. I had kinda promised him to bring him there someday and I made good on my promise this time around. After getting baked in the sun a bit, Lisa came around! Was one of those 'moments'. I get the feeling we have grown apart somewhat. Which is to be expected since I am now attached. But still swell seeing her. She is a great girl. She will someday make someone a good wife.

After ECP, the 2 fellows went to Changi Village for sugarcane and to look at some fishing stuff.

And...after Changi Village, we dropped into Punggol Beach hoping to catch some action and caught nothing except those clingy thingys that got stuck on our pants and shoes. Planning a picnic (with no teddy bears!!) there in the near or not so near future.

Sunday

Met my 'sweetie pie-sugar plum-honey bun' Joyce for 3rd service at church. After we took a walk to Pan Pacific Hotel to look for some stuff for Joyce's beauty regime but the shop was closed. Had a light meal at Long John Silver's. Went to the Burger King next door looking for the discount coupons but they had already given them all out. Hasli messaged me asking us to join him at Sembawang Park to collect worms. Politely declined somewhat...

We then went to East Coast Park on our quest to find good and cheap inline skates. Had the intention to also go over to JB next week under the notion that blades would be cheaper over there. We asked around a few of the shops there and finally settled on a pair each.

Now to learn how to move around on them skates.....doh!!!

Monday

After classes went to Woodlands Regional Library with Hasli and with Doctor in tow for a lift to Woodlands MRT. As Hasli perused the magazine shelf for fishing magazines I made my way up to the Adults borrowing section and managed to find 3 books on inline skating. After checking out the books I joined Hasli in the reading area to go through the magazines and flipped through my books.
