Ha Ji Won & Kwon Sang Woo 'working' on their ad

A funny video featuring actress, Ha Ji Won and
heart throb and Face Shop Ambassador, Kwon Sang Woo.

They have such an easy chemistry and look so good together. They should do more films together.

Need I say he is Agnes favourite actor?

U23D

I do hope this comes to Singapore soon. U2 is my favourite band by far, and this is probably as close as I will ever get to going to one of their concerts.maybe even better...

a simple do and don'ts with babies

Since Noel and Ann have a little one on the way, and inevitably Agnes and myself will be having little bundles of joy of our own, I thought it timely to have a little guide of what should and should not be done with babies....
.
.
.
.
.
.
pay attention now...

  • Always remember to support the back of baby's head when attempting to carry.

  • it is advisable to engage in stimulating activities with your baby.

  • Always place baby in the baby-seat of the shopping cart when shopping.

  • exercising is beneficial to both the physical and mental growth of your baby.

  • Babies enjoy being carried and lifted as a form of play.

  • After a bath, dry your baby throughly with a towel.

  • Calm your baby by resting his head on your shoulder as your stroke or pat baby on the back.

  • You can provide visual stimulus for baby with colour and movement around the baby cot.

  • When you are not around, do not leave baby unattended.Place him in a baby pen.

  • Baby can be awaken with soft cues such as a kiss.

  • When changing baby's diapers, remember to clean baby first using baby wipes.

  • Remember to introduce baby to your pets in the home.

  • As baby starts to teeth, do provide teething toys.

February is dawning upon us once more. February is always great if only for Valentine's Day and our anniversary being mere days apart. Add in the added buzz of the Chinese New Year long weekend, and it seems like life could not be better. As it stands now, I will not be working on CNY weekend. So hopefully the wifey and myself will get to spend some quality time together. Seems like ages since we did do anything fun together.

On the other hand, we met up with Kaili the other day and finalised some of the renovation plans. And then on Sunday we met up once more to buy the lighting and bathroom accessories. We spent over 5k there at Balestier! Hopefully all that hard earned moolah will be worth it. We still have to meet up with Kaili again to decide on the floor tiles design and colours. But I think we have more or less decided on that already, so it should be a mere formality.

We are also now actively looking for a venue for our wedding banquet. We are hoping to have it at the end of the year (December, or November...or maybe even in October). We have shortlisted a few hotels, our initial choices(Goodwood and The Oriental) are out of our price range at the moment. So we have opted for more-value-for-money type hotels.

Agnes has really hit the floor running at her new job. She is so busy with meetings, projects and learning the ropes, it is crazy. But this is what she really wants. And I know she has it within herself to excel in this field. And Agnes still has yet to finalise her thesis for her Masters. She is still at the draft stage and her Boss is giving her a rough time.

Heard from Agnes that as part of her job she will be away overseas from time to time. And some of these overseas trips can be weeks and months! Looks like I am going to be a work widower by the look of things. But at least I still have a home at Casuarina to go to during those lonely nights. And in addition, I will be trying to visit Agnes over there on her trips if possible. And if time permits maybe even stay with her throughout her tenure. There is even speak of a nice romantic honeymoon/business trip in Switzerland.

By the looks of things, when we do move in together, so far my responsibilities would include:
  • make hot chinese tea
  • do the laundry
  • do the ironing
  • Sweep and mop the floor
  • cook
  • feed the pets
  • clean the pets cages and tanks

    So much for gender equality....

Closer to home, Lollie and Lobang are growing fast, and it is timely to separate them from their mum and from each other. I especially think Lollie would make a good house rabbit. So I am gonna pay her more attention and house train her. Fluffy is good too. He is so gentle and his long fur makes him stand out from the rest, as much as Lollie's albinism makes her so very special.
In other bunny news, Fluffy and Scruffy can go down and get their naughty bits snipped off anytime soon. Scruffy is long overdue to get done. And Fluffy appears to have gained sufficient weight to safely undergo the procedure. Tuffy has yet to show any significant weight gain, but that is to be expected with her having to contend with 2 greedy kits. All the more reason to hasten the separation of mum and her spawn.

Tomorrow Agnes has another meet-up with the HQ girls. Yenling, Wee Ling, Nat and one other *unknown* person will be there. maybe even Mz will make a cameo. Blah. I have been asked to dutifully attend, eat, and not talk so much. bleh.

We went down to Mustaffa the other day, and I purchased a pair of safety boots. Yayyyyy...been wanting to buy that for quite some time...
Other stuff I need is a new pair of glasses. And a new car. But admittedly Sunny has been doing well as of late. Other than that punctured tyre, Sunny has not had any technical difficulties against all odds. Not sure when or how I will be able to go down to view cars. Agnes is as always so preoccupied with her own stuff, that we hardly have time to do so.

Went to Ikea on Saturday. Bought some batteries, a couple of mats and a storage box for all the bunny accessories.

noel's and ann's wedding/ROM last tuesday went according to plan as best I know. The dinner buffet later that night went well too. With a bun in the oven, things are looking to be interesting in the weeks and months to come. And probably everyone is gonna ask me when me and Agnes are gonna have a little terror of our own.
answer: NOT YET!! After our wedding dinner thingy.....
There was also an occasion of high drama the other night as Ann had contractions and had to be sped off to KKH. Ended up there was no place in the inn for the mother and child. So they had to be ambulanced to NUH. Where Ann had to be kept for observation overnight. Now she is back home where she belongs and all is right in the world again.

The other day Agnes and myself had a discussion about doing our vows again, since the first time was crap and an experience that left a bitter after taste. I do not think we actually can do that unless we 'divorce and re-marry'. Of course there is always this thought that Agnes might elope with her beloved Chengjun Ge, and leave me stranded all alone at the altar, but that is a worry for another day.Meanwhile what we can do is to have a small ceremony at or preceding our wedding dinner. And then there is the option of Renewing our Vows somewhere down the line. For the first, we will then have to source for someone to officiate our wedding ceremony. And then the second one is always there. One can renew their vows as many times as they want to. The only one I had the privilege to be a part of was in Israel then when all the couples renewed their vows. It was such a meaningful and touching event to be a part of. And I hope one day Agnes and myself will be able to do that together.

The two sisters-in-law are plotting something I tell ya. Hahahaaa. Their secret SMS sessions and conversations in hushed tones are definitely not about cooking recipes.

There are plans afoot to jog on weekends with Don, Leo and Noel. I am not sure whether they will come to fruition, but one can always hope. I been contending with a bad back the last couple of weeks. May have something to do with all my workout sessions. Agnes and myself are also planning to hit the gym again soon. And maybe even go jogging once more. I need to improve my cardio-vascular conditioning and get rid of my 'beer-gut', for what that is worth.

Every year in mid January, I get an envelope in the mail adressed to one Joyce Lim Boon Cheng. I have no idea how or why such a letter got directed to my address in the first place. So each time I get one of those envelopes I will send it to its rightful owner over at Canberra Road. Miss Lim has to go and do something about it. I am not a postman despite appearances. Although I do not really mind sending the said envelope over, I am sure it dawns on her that she should do the needful and inform the sender to change the home address. But that is just me using my brain to think for once.

    Chinglish Sign of the Day:

I probably have other stuff to note here but just feel like stopping now.
