jump in my car

A music so painfully bad that I just had to share it with everyone.

Its David Hasselhoff doing a remake of Jump in My Car. In the video he channels some of his more (in)famous roles and really hams it up here.

enjoy...

Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you;

Today registered and paid the deposit for my Israel trip after church service.
Tentatively I will be away from 20th Nov to 29th Nov 06. They said they may be able to find me a room mate for the trip, so that's a bonus.

The new furniture hub in Tampines is taking shape. Main tenants: Courts and IKEA. Gonna be an improvement on the current IKEA at Alexandra Road. The parking is insufficient there especially on weekends.

Just hours from the Finals, as Italy face off with France. Portugal got sent to the cleaners by Germany as they were thumped 3-0 in the 3rd/4th Place match.
Sweet!

Lyn's and Yew Kwang's wedding dinner is tomorrow. All blessings to the blissful couple! May they live a life together filled with God's love and wisdom.

Agnes and I were supposed to go for a short trip at the end of this month to either Bangkok or KL. But those plans were scuppered in a hurry with the realisation that it also happened to be the Hungry Ghost month. So no trip. Go figure.

Sunny is not getting any younger. Maybe I should trade him in for a Piccy.

or this...

The reviews for the Chery QQ have not been too positive. It is after all made in China. But it is sure as cute a button.

Picanto's go for between $32,999 to $ 35,999. QQ's for $31,900! Cheapest car in Singapore!!

Brownian Movement

The internet is abuzz regarding the suspension of Mr Brown's aka Lee Kim Mun regular column in the Today newspaper. It all began with his recent article entitled S'poreans are fed, up with progress!. It prompted a swift and harsh response from K Bhavani, Press Secretary to the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts. Today,in response suspended Mr Brown's column indefinitely.

Of course the show of support for Mr Brown has been unanimous in the bloggosphere. Mr Brown is considered by many to be the Grandfather or Godfather of Singapore Blogging. I was reading his site long before blogging became 'In' here. As such I do not see how anything on his site can be considered remotely dangerous. It is all satire dumbos! And Mr Brown has the uncanny ability to be on the pulse of what Singaporeans think. That has been the secret to his longevity and the reason he got his column space in the first place.

Blogs are considered the last bastion of free speech in Singapore despite all the recent actions to clamp down on partisan political commentary in the wake of the General Elections and the charging of bloggers for sedition. And until the government realises that there are many voices that need to be heard and that the more they suppress us,the more of us will sprout in place of those who are gone.

On a lighter note here is a music video...

All glory comes from daring to begin

Mimi gave birth to 7 healthy pups. Love her so much despite her her quirky ways. In fact that is reason to love her more.

I be away in Israel in November or December. In that time I have to ensure that my hammies are well taken care of. I already made some contacts with hamster nannys to look after my hammies if needed. For my part I will be giving away 'excess' hamsters to SHC members you wanna adopt them. Gotta streamline my operations.

Reading Nanz Chong-Komo's book, One Business 99 Lessons, right now. Nanz was the founder of the ONE.99shop chain. Business boomed until they had 14 stores and a turnover of $60 million. She received rave reviews and awards for her entrepreneurial endeavours. Then in 2003, her business underwent receivership in the wake of the SARS outbreak. What should have broken her spirit instead steeled her resolve to make her 'failure' into success. This book is a testament to the true entrepreneurial spirit that is Nanz. And how through what many of us consider as failure, we find the true secret to sustainable success in business. The book is so named because it contains 99 business principles so to speak stemming from Nanz's influences and her setbacks in her business(es).

Gonna start from now to prepare for my impending Israel trip. Gonna read up and save up for what should be a tremendous journey.

My fish air pump burnt out barely 2 weeks after I purchased it. Hmph! So it is back to my old one again, which coincidentally leaked today as water from the tank seeped back down the tubes and leaked onto the floor through some gaps in the tubing.Probably gonna go and get a new one tomorrow.

Other things to get tomorrow....Mouthwash...my old bottle ran out a while back...and been taking forever to replace it...

World Cup Finals beckons tomorrow. But first the titanic battle to ascertain 3rd and 4th placing. Germany battle Portugal tonight. Then tomorrow France and Italy face off for all the bragging rights. Italy and Portugal resorted to under-handed tactics to get this far and I hope to see them get their respective asses handed to them in their matches. But somehow Italy are the favourites going in to the Finals. But one can only hope that justice prevails in the end.
