Pyjama party in Orchard???

It is a sure sign you are getting on in years when you go to Orchard Road after not having gone there in so long. It seems the latest trend amongst our young and trendy is to... wear pyjamas!! That is right. Pyjamas. Not trendy type pyjama's even. The type aunty types would wear around the house. It was quite a sight seeing these groups of youngsters in these threads.
Another facet of this trend it seems is to run around shopping complexes dressed in their pj's. It is sort of like a herd mentality thing. Running around crowded shopping complexes dressed only in a set of pyjamas.

What really takes the cake though was the sight of a young boy dressed in what was probably something he borrowed from his mum. It looked like one of those long t-shirt types young girls and ladies wear around the house, in the privacy of their own homes.

In ending all I can say is that aesthetic and fashion sense should never get in the way of being 'cool'.

Singapore's First AVA-approved Doggie Bakery !

Just came across this. Cool ain't it? It is not too far off from Agnes's place. Now all I need is a dog. Anyone for a spot of tea? :P

US Doggie Bakery is located at

the untitle-able post

As I menetioned I upgraded my Flickr account. But now the opposite dilemma is true. I do not have enough pictures to fully utilise my account. Such is life.

Some of you may be wondering what the COEXIST icon at the bottom of all my newer posts signify. In the icon the symbols of 3 monotheistic world religions, namely Judaism,Islam and Christianity are used as characters to form the word. There is even another version that incorporates Islam, Buddhism, Science, Judaism, Hinduism, Wicca / Paganism & Christianity!
The main message it brings is that inspite of our differences we can still coexist in peace and love.

Cleaned out the old fish tank. Now all the fish are sitting (as only fish can) in a spartan, albeit smaller, tank. The old tank was full of algae and snails. The new one is well newer and cleaner. Not much to look at but much, much easier to maintain. I am looking to start up a new tank sometime soon. But for the time being the present setup will have to do.

Agnes and I celebrated our first lantern festival last night. I know it is officially tonight, but everyone knows we hardy meet on Sundays so we had to bring it forward to saturday. First order of business was to go and check out Noel's show at Punggol. We had a hard time finding the place due to Noel's vague and inaccurate directions. But when we finally found it, it was not half bad. Better at least than the one at Teck Ghee. Of course the one at Teck Ghee was a school do and the budget was no where near what this 'official' constituency/RC organised one had. After a bit of walking we adjourned to Ang Mo Kio to feast on their $10 dollar steamboat. The range was rather limited and the food was not exceptionally tasty. I guess you get what you pay for. Maybe next time I will bring my honey to the other place.
Last call of business was to go to the reservoir near my house to play lanterns. There was quite a crowd there when we got there. More than I had expected compared to previous years. It was almost like a family picnic atmosphere sans the sun. Even Eggy our beloved soft toy tortoise 'son' had a scale lantern of his own. He watched on bemused as Agnes and I light up all the lanterns and tried in vain to secure them round about our bench. At one point I even ventured down into the forest area to get a few branches to stick into the crevices to suspend the lanterns.

I gotta start jogging and hitting those weights soon. I guess I lack the discipline to maintain a constant fitness regime.

Speaking of discipline, I gotta practice my guitar! Been neglecting it for a while now. Practice makes perfect as they all say. So practice I must. Now where is that guitar cd I bought a while back?

Gonna have to pay my M1 phone bill... they already sent a gentle reminder...

Went JB with the colleagues and friends on Thursday. Was fun once more. Too bad Agnes and Sin could not make it. Then my joy would have been complete. We ate at the Singgah Selalu and shopped. We got into JB town a bit late after having to wait for Yew Kwang and Lyn. And in the end they got there before us.
On a sidenote it is hard to believe Pei Lian is 7 months expecting. She still fits into a mini skirt and looks as radiant as ever. Some guys (and gals) have all the luck.

Agnes has been bugging me to get matching tees. It is the couple thing to do. I have always been one to defy norms and conventions. But I am not adverse to doing it this time, provided it is tastefully done. No hello kitty or doraemon t-shirts, thank you...

I am off to play church now. Alone again naturally. So I sign off here and will be back later to blog some more. (AFTER catching the big LIVERPOOL vs Manure Disunited match)

time and again

I was supposed to help ferry Agnes's mum and dad to the dialysis centre. But I ended up reaching Bedok South late and they had to hail a cab to get there themselves. Understandably all parties concerned were upset over the matter.

I guess I got a little carried away with what I was doing at home yesterday and really lost track of time. Before I knew it it was 4.25 pm! And I was supposed to be there at 4.30!! I made a mad rush down but it was to no avail. The damage had already been done. It is so hard to earn trust and so very easy to lose in an instance.

I guess if there has ever been a bugbear in my relationship with Agnes it has been her parents, and namely her mum. Do not forget the 'long face' incident where I was so upset at having to drive them to a funeral that I wore an appropriately solemn long face all throughout the rest of the day. Agnes was so disappointed with me. And her mum was too as I had seemed unwilling to help. Never a good attribute for a potential son-in-law to have. And then there was the 'hair incident' where her mum once again commented on my hair, and I rudely retorted that 'her hair was not so good'. That made Agnes upset, as any good daughter would do in defence of her mum. And now the latest incident.

In between all of this, there were times when things that Agnes told me that hit close to home. I have always been able to get along with most people's parents. In fact most of them think quite highly of me, with few exceptions. Those exceptions were wankers anyway. But the point is that it is frustrating to always be hitting a wall when it comes to this aspect. It is not that I am not trying or doing things to piss them off on purpose. But it feels like it at times. I want to much to be loved and trusted by them. I treasure Agnes so much but all I ever seem to do is do is disappoint her. She loves her mum dearly. She is the most important person to her in this world. But it is just so hard to get things right...

Maybe it is like Agnes said,'u blew the chance urself'.
