visited the flat this morning..

agnes and myself went down to the flat again today, to update on how it is going on. we actually went down last night as well, but it was too dark to see what was done despite having my trusty torch, so we endeavoured to go down today. and i must say we really like what the flat looks like now. it is not perfect nor ideal, but in many ways it is like how we never knew we wanted it to be. anyway, here are some of the pictures I took:

next week they are putting up the various lights and that is when we will really see how the house will look. but so far it looks promising.

getting blur images on M1 broadband lately?

think many M1 broadband subscribers are facing the same problems. and here is the solution:
M1 Customer Relations email replies, they are “currently implementing some optimization to improve the user’s experience while surfing“. The “solution” provided in the same email is: “To view the graphics at its optimal quality, you may like to move the mouse cursor over the picture, the blurred image will auto-refresh to the original image in about two seconds“.

no clue as of yet when they will rectify the bug that is causing the problem.

the distance from here

been a warm last few days. I am one of those that finds it hard to sleep when it gets too warm, or when the nights become too chilly. so it takes a delicate balancing act to get the right conditions for me to sleep. it does not help matters that my room is fully enclosed to keep dust and cat fur out. the door is usually kept closed and the windows are always closed. I try as much as possible not to use the air-con due to financial cost, so the various fans in my room are my best friends these days.

Found my dear Rusty dead the other day. One of the worst feelings in the world when something goes wrong and you do not know what went happened. Rusty showed no signs of age or illness in the days preceding her death. Syrian hamsters live 2 to 2 1/2 years normally. some are even known to live 3 to 4 years long. so Rusty probably died before her time. got her in September 06, so that would make her less than 2 years old.

the champions league semi's were played over the last few days. and Man U triumphed over Barcelona, and Chelsea finally overcame their hoodoo team Livepool. so the final reads as Manchester United vs Chelsea FC *yawn*. So for me it is almost a non-event, unlike some other members of the Boyd household who are Manure and Chelski fans. That and the uninspiring FA Cup final of Cardiff City and Portsmouth, and the EPL title race between Chelsea and Man U, a season that promised so much in the most exciting league in the world, is heading for an anti-climax. with no one to root for and no matches to look forward to, it is gonna be a cold and lonely summer. even england is out of the European Cup.
Here is to hoping Liverpool, Spurs and Newcastle get back to winning ways next season.

The house is coming along just fine. The tiling is done, as I alluded to in my previous post. the air-cons have been installed, although they are gonna be moving the air-con in the master bedroom to a less central position. The painting will be done in the next few days. the lightings and other installments should be done by now. can't wait to go see it. and cabinets in the room and kitchens will be done next week. then we are home and dry, in a matter of speaking.

13th May to 20th May

The hong kong trip is not yet confirmed even at this late juncture. with less than 2 weeks to go, it is not yet a go. and if it goes ahead it is a race against time to book our accommodations and flights. however if the hong kong trip fall through, we may try to use the time to go on our Bangkok trip, or just plain go over to the flat and clean it up.

29th May to 6th June

then at the end of the month it is the Berlin trip. Agnes is looking forward to this trip, notwithstanding the long flights to and fro. and being that I have to be back by saturday to work, we will have to leave by thursday. so will probably means we will not have very much time to sightsee. :(
