Chelsea got beat!

Chelsea were beaten 5-4 by Charlton Athletic on penalties. Suddenly their aura of invinciblity has dissipated. Hot on the heels of their draw with Everton at the weekend, looks like Chelsea will not be winning everything on offer this season either. And all the clubs chasing Chelsea in the EPL can breathe a little easier now that we know Chelski will not have the title wrapped up by the New Year.
But a sign of true champions is when they go through a rough patch like this one, they come out stronger and with their guns blazing. Lets just hope this is not a bad patch and the chasing pack makes a little headway so that it does not become a one horse race to the Premier League title.

times

I have officially declared that I am not attending up for guitar classes on Tuesdays at Siglap CC. Of course there are mixed feelings involved as I feel bad for leaving Agnes to go alone. But there is little reason to go when in my heart I did not feel I was benefiting much from the tutelage I was getting last term.

My fish tank is getting kinda murky and cloudy. maybe algae forming. Treated the water just now and may do a few water changes in the days to come until the situation improves. May even introduce carbon if the tide (so to speak) does not turn.

Bought new track shoes from e-mart. I now have the entire set of SAF standard issue shoes. Had to use my balance of SAF points before year end otherwise I would have to forfeit them. So a pair of shoes is good. I may even get a pair of them new boots to boot (hahaa...geddit?). Agnes could use a pair of running shoes too.

On leave on Monday. Still thinking what to do. How I am gonna spend my big day *cough* and where to have dinner later on? Actually I was thinking of going to Wild Wild Wet. But I am not sure the weather will keep. To add to my concerns is whether Agnes would be up to it.

Science Centre is gonna have the Art of Star Wars exhibition next month. Being the huge SW fan I am, I will definitely be going. Not everyday that something like that comes to our shores anyway. Hasli seems keen also. Maybe we could all go together then.

Still trying to figure out how to use my Photoshop Elements to it fullest potential. Guess the main problem is how un-intuitive the menu is. It works a treat if you know what you are doing. But it is a totally different story when you arenew and may never have used like software before. The so-called Help function was not very helpful. It was kinda vague and confusing. They do not tell you what you need to know all in one page. Instead you have to traverse between various pages to get the full picture and try to decipher what they are trying to tell you. I was trying to create .gif files. So I went to the Help Menu to see how to go about it.

Instructions like "In the Editor, place the images you want to appear in each frame of the animation on separate layers of the Layers palette."

Ok...

So now I have to find out what are layers and where exactly the Layers Pallete is. And also how to select the images that I 'want to appear in each frame of the animation'. So I type 'layer' and 'layers pallette'. And I get a whole list of 'related links'. After reading all 15 links I still do not know how to 'place the images you want to appear in each frame of the animation on separate layers of the Layers palette'.

It is a a conspiracy I tell ya....

Green is the new black

The blog has undergone yet another makeover. This time it is in the colours of Eggy Beansprout (read:green)
And to add to it there are pictures of Eggy platered all over the page.
So what do you think of it?

the hunt for gifts in October

Lo and behold it is October. been that way for the last 28 days. Funny thing is how many birthdays there are this month.

Just yesterday I became an uncle twice over. Lynn gave birth to a boy a couple of weeks ahead of schedule. He just could not wait to come into the world.
So now besides the birthday of Alden (17th)and myself (31st), there is another cause for celebration. Let's not forget it is also my mama & papa's anniversary on the 28th! So all in all the last week of October is packed with family b-days. Noel's birthday is 2 weeks after mine. Another party then perhaps.

I been wondering what is it about October and babies. Seems a disproportionate number of us are brought into this world during this time of year. I have a whole log of friends and friend-of-friends and family who also share October as their birthday.

My theory is that it may have something to do with Valentine's day. Although the math may not be entirely accurate,V-day is in mid February,so counting forward there should be many little tramps coming into the world in October to November.
Anyone else has any other explainations for the surge in maternity ward admiisions in October?

CHELSEA DRAW!!

Chelsea drew 1-1 with mighty Everton.

It is about time someone put an end to their unbeaten run and stop the EPL from being a one horse race. No body likes a pompous, arrogant team. Worst still a pompous, arrogant team that you just can't beat. Shades of Man U there.

On a sidenote,Jose Mourinho's comments after that shows he is a sore loser.

And...on a personal note my beloved Newcastle beat Sunderland 3-2 in a goal-fest. We may never win a trophy, but we sure entertain...

bikini wax?

bulleted thoughts

- Xiaxue's blog is sure looking great now. The revamp has raised the bar for local blog sites to a whole new level. But there is no substitute for substance.

- Funny how we take those closest to us for granted. We think we can say or do anything and that person will just forgive & forget. But it hurts the most when the one doing the hurting is someone close to you whether we realise it or not...

- Bought new fish. This time and went down to Qian Hu and got them .Hope they survive. My last couple of buying sprees had catastrophic mortality rates. Only 3 fish survived out of the like $40 of fish I had bought. Still trying to figure out where I went wrong..

- Gonna get the FIFA 2006 game. They say it is out in the shops. But not seen any at all the shops I been to.

- Gonna start to use the Photoshop Elements 3.0 I bought a while back. Been using Picasa 2.0. It is well and good for most photo editing. But why use Picasa when you have Photoshop?

- Been sleeping better lately. Maybe it has do with the reduction in teh halias and the weekly exercise.

- Got a new frame for my Transitions. Looks kinda funky. Went back to the nanyang optical at Causeway Point, where I had made my set initially. Actually wanted a more conservative design, but the girl convinced me otherwise.

- Cats are cats. But cats can never be dogs. As much as I love cats, I still love dogs more. Monk is a cat and not a dog, although he does display doggie-like attributes. Poor confused fat pussy!

- I just love Blackcurrant and Fruit Pastilles. I could just eat and eat them.

- Ben & Jerry's have opened 2 more scoop shops besides the ones at the Zoo & Night safari. They are at Suntec (near Carrefour) and at Great World City, with more on the way.

- It is funny how you can feel so connected to people you have never met in real life, yet feel so detached from the people you see everyday.

- Gonna vacuum Sunny sometime soon. I hope.

- Guitar classes. To go or not to go, that is the question.

- The pics from my zoo trip on monday are up.

- Just looking at the fish I bought earlier today, it is uncanny how they resemble human behavior (from a human perspective of course). Some like the gouramis are very extroverted. Showing no fear and swimming around like they been in tank forever. The others smallers fish all group together and huddle in some corner of the tank even though there are more of them than there are gouramis. And then there are the resident fish whom seem meek when first introduced, but then become the life of the party when they warm up to their new friends. And then there are the ones you do not notice. The list goes on..

- Gonna have to start clearing my leave between now and the end of the year. Gonna be tough trying to find dates to do that. Guess I am not ruthless enough to take leave as and when I please. But I will be applying on Monday at least for those days I need for the rest of October and the beginning of November.

What kind of Volkswagen New Beetle are you?

I'm a Sundown Orange Volkswagen Beetle!

Your Sundown Orange Beetle is probably most likely spotted late at night parked at a corporate office or gym somewhere; somewhere you can express the intensity that's evident in all you do. Fortunately for you, you're also most likely intense enough to fend off the fiends that come crawling at that time of night, too.
