I know nothing except the fact of my ignorance.

Monday was my dearies birthday. So after work Iwent to pick her up and we went to Equinox for a little fine dining. I must say that no matter how many times you go there the view from the top is still breath-taking. One of these days we have to go there for brunch, lunch or tea.
The service and food was great also. Although it all came up to nearly $200 all in, I would consider it money well spent considering how well they treated us. Really puts into perspective our experience at Jewel Box. We paid even more then for a dinner which came no where near the equinox in terms of quality nor service. In fact we not even got back to them for our complimentary meal after I had given feedback to our unpleasant experience.
As with all fine dining, the portions were rather smaller than we were accustomed. But it tasted good (to me at least). Agnes has a slightly different palate than me but she was impressed also as far as I could see.
Oh...and Agnes just adores the toilets at Equinox Complex!

Tuesday I reported for in-camp. Was another of those aimless days where nothing happened. An awful waste of a good day. We were given no bunk nor any instructions. I ended up taking a long nap in my car after lunch. Worst part was that after a while the car battery went dead! SO I had to call the AAS to come down and help me jump start the car. My fault really, should never let the car run on its battery for so long. The AA guy finally came and then it was one red-tape situation after another. There was an official event on so certain roads in the camp were closed. I ended up having to help the guy carry his battery and equipment to my car from the parade square.
Quite a bad day. was tired, bored, sweaty and wet (due to the rain that afternoon). Could not wait to get home to get a long, hot shower.

On wednesday, was a better day as there was actually some stuff to do in camp so time passed a bit faster. Better yet, we spent most of the morning in a plush air-conditioned auditorium! Every one gave their welcome addresses and such. And then 43 of us were seconded out of our unit. A few others went MIA, as they re-joined the unit when actually they were supposed to have been with my group. Go figure.
At least I had some purpose and a group of friends now. Funny how I unwittingly became the link between the guys from my old unit and the other people from other units. I seem able to traverse between the hokkien pengs and the engrish educated guys well. hahaha..another feather in my cap.
I hung around with my old camp mates from my active days, some from my old ORNS unit and the many new guys to join us (from my perspective). I guess I am in a unique position having known and served under all 3 groups that i happen to know almost everyone and people seem to know me even when I do not recognise them by face.
Mainly our duties for the duration of the ICT consist of doing odd jobs and helping out where needed. I am sort of like the right hand man of our group IC. Hahaa...that is unofficial, but sems when people want permission to go or do anything or need information they come to me rather than anyone else as they are more familiar approaching me.

After that I went pick up my dar from school and then swung by PPWC to pick up yenling. We then headed over to marina Square for dinner. We ate at one of the chinese restaurants at the food wing. In retrospect, i was rather tired and under the weather. Felt a little out of place with the 3 girls. Felt it a little forced that they had to include me in their conversation. Normally in such a situation I would go entertain myself and then meet up with them at the tail-end of their dinner. That way the girls can talk without having to be concerned about me and having to be wary of what they say in the presence of a guy.
The food was ok, but my main dish, ox tail noodles in wine took like forever to come. The girls had already finished their meal by the time mine came. And then my dessert also too longer than expected to arrive. That one I do not understand. My was the simplest one to make which consisted of ginger soup and 2 peanuts filled rice balls yet arrived last after all the other more elaborate desserts had arrived.

Thursday was more of the same in camp, bt at least we had some direction and purpose.
Agnes went to meet Shan Shan after school, so i went straight home and cleaned up all my hamster cages.

Friday more of the same. Then after lunch some good news. The person in charge of us allowed us all to go off home in the afternoon. So I took the opportunity to go home and change into my civillian clothes and meet up with my sweetheart.
We went to Esplanade to photocopy some music sheets, went city-link to get a Phantom of the Opera DVD, Then to funan to look for a particular music book.
Then it was to thomson plaza where we found Agnes a new phone. She loves it. Only problem is transferring all ther old smses and data to her new phone. We had dinner at Pizza hut, continued our search for the elusive music book and grabbed some food from the hammies and bunnies.Hams + Buns = Hamburgers!! Lame joke, I know...

On Saturday I picked up Agnes and headed straight to my place. We played with the bunnies and explored some of the extra features on the Phantom DVD. After that was dinner at Romano's opposite my house and then birthday cake cutting back at my house. The it was Animal Planet time in my room. get your mind out of the gutter. We actually lay in bed watching the Animal Planet Channel until it was time to send my lovely princess home.
