blogs by people I know

Let me get the big one out of the way first...

Nadia

I think by now most of you would have read my entries on her. Nuff said.

Noel

My brother,Noel. A new blog, only 2 entries long as of today. He and I are really close and hope to see more posts from him in the near future.

Vannie

Vanessa has a blog too, but she would prefer I do not divulge the address as she prefers it to be kept private. A really sweet girl. Wise beyond her years.

Marcus

I got to know him through Lisa and he is a really funny guy.Loves animals and zoo's. We not keep in touch regularly but I him as a friend. He does not blog regularly, but still he is a good read.

Faith
A friend I got to know through Rachelle. We go to church together sometimes. She writes these really cryptic posts. She also has another blog which is ...umm...more explicit. And she ...umm.... has a good grasp of the english language. Coolness!

Pei Yun
Not met her before. But I do enjoy the pics she posts sometimes. In fact the first time we met I was looking for a picture of Marina Loft and stumbled upon her page. Left a comment and the rest is history.

There are others but I think this is all for now...

Things I like about Agnes...

Although this list is by no means exhaustive, it kind of touches upon what makes her so special...

1) She is an independent, modern woman. In that I mean she does not need me to pander to her every whim and fancy. A typical date with her is enjoyable because I do not have to act like someone trapped in a time warp. She orders her own food and sometimes even takes care of the drinks. Agnes is not the sort who expects her guy to wait on her hand and foot. Which is refreshing. She also does not expect me to hold doors open for her.

In fact because she is so self-sufficient, it makes me want to pamper and let her know how much I appreciate her even more. And she appreciates all the small things I do for her so much. She does not see it as my duty to do 'gentlemanly' things for her and is often overwhelmed when I do stuff for her.

2) Her love for animals. I think anyone who knows me would know how much I love animals and nature. So it is priceless to have a partner whom I can share my passion with. In fact in some aspects her love surpasses even mine for conservation and animal rights.

3) Making time for what is important. In life we often make time for the things we esteem most in our hearts. And Agnes despite all her committments besides me, still makes the time and effort for us to do things together and spend quality time. Agnes has her family time to tend to, as well as work and her piano, as well as her future further studies to contend with, yet she still finds time to make me the centre of her universe. That is something that means so much to me.

4) She is passionate. I do not know how to describe it here without divulging our litle secrets. But let us just say that she is a good kisser, and that she is affectionate. Words can only say so much, but actions leave an indelible impression! When we are together, I feel so loved. A simple touch or the feeling of her hand in mine is enough to make me feel special. Her hugs and kisses mean so much because you know she is not just going through the motions, but that they are expressions of the love she holds for me in her hearts.

5) She is practical. I am the sort who loves to indulge those I treasure most. I see it as an expression of my love towards those I love. But Agnes is never quick to take advantage of that 'weakness'. In fact she loves me in spite of myself. I may not earn as much as her even now, but she is willing to overlook my shortcomings. She never asks for the moon and expects me to deliver. As such I have learnt to be more prudent in my expenditure. It does not cost alot to have a good time anyway. So at least now I am more conscientious about what I spend on.

Agnes.

We have been together for all of 4 months. But it never feels like it. In a way I feel like we have known each other for a lifetime. I am sure Agnes feels the same way too. It is just that the pieces fit so well, it is often too good to be true. She is as much my best friend, as the love of my life. But it was not always like that...

I have known her almost as long as she has worked in AVA. We occasionally had dinner at the same table and rubbed shoulders at company shindigs. But we were never close or even on speaking terms until quite recently. I guess the other people left a deeper impresion on her than myself, namely: Ten, Ai Khim,Hasli,Lyn and Poh. Being the social butterfly(not) that I am, we hardly engaged in any meaningful conversation beside the usual pleasantries.
I always found her a pleasant girl and someone I could relate to even then. But she had 'better things' to do than to bother with someone like me it seemed. So years went by and we hardly knew of one anothers existence.
Until the day I 'stole' her handphone number off of Hasli and we started SMS-ing to-and-fro ever since. One thing lead to another and I asked her out for dinner one day. We met at the Heeren and had dinner at Pasta Mania at Orchard Cineleisure. After that we went shopping at Heeren area.
We met a few times after that for movies (on Chinese New Years Eve), at her place for Chinese New Years(!) and so on. The turning point for me was when she was my Valentine. We went to NYDC at Suntec.
Of course all the dating was fine and good, but I wanted more. Although we were doing all the stuff that couples do, we were still not officially an item. I had asked her a few times but she seemed uncommittal as to our status. Until...

That night at Marina Bay. We had a nice pleasant chat under the starry sky as the city lights twinkled in the background. As the hours passed we seemed to grow more intimate in the fact that she was by then literally on my lap! But still the answers I were seeking seemed no where in sight despite appearances.
And then there was this guy sms-ing and calling her asking her out. I was peeved to be honest. He knew we were already dating and yet he had the nerve to still try his luck in trying to snare her. Worst part was Agnes still entertained his advances despite the fact we were already dating. I was visibly upset then, maybe not to the extent to which I was displaying, but upset nonetheless. Although we were not an item exclusively, I had by then grown very fond of Agnes and did not want to lose her to someone else.Especially so when the other guy was a player.
The ride home that night was kind of marked by the silence. I was upset and did not feel like talking much after. I did ask her a few times on the way about our 'status' but still the answer I needed had not arrived.
When we had reached her place I walked her up to her flat as is my custom. It was there and then she declared that we were indeed a couple!

YAYYYYYYYY!! *Smoooooooccccchhhh....*

The kiss we shared that night may not be the best one we ever had since then, but it was surely a moment I will never forget as long as I live. So many emotions were wrapped up in that moment. When the moment finally came it was the greatest feeling in all the world.

Since then we have been virtually inseparable and our love has grown from strength to strength. I never felt so strongly about anyone before. Now that she is once again away ,in malaysia this time, I pine for her return. And every moment without her is like an eternity.

After all the shit I been thru in my personal life the last decade or so, I truly appreciate Agnes all the more. Makes me want to love and treasure her more. To do all that is humanly possible to be the best boyfriend/fiance/husband to her that I can. And when all else fails to love her as God would have me to...

Olympic fever hits Singapore in July 2005 as it hosts the most exciting event in its sports history - the 117th IOC Session where the 2012 Olympic Games host city will be elected.

116 International Olympic Committee (IOC) members will vote to determine the 2012 Games host among finalists Paris, New York, Moscow, London and Madrid.

Rest in Peace: Luther Vandross

Legendary American soul singer Luther Vandross died at the age of 54, two years after suffering a devastating stroke that left him debilitated for the rest of his life.

Vandross stopped making public appearances following his stroke in his New York apartment, but managed to keep recording, winning four Grammys in 2004 including best song for his wrenching "Dance With My Father." But even as he ailed, "Dance With My Father," co-written with Richard Marx, sold nearly a million copies in its first month of release in June 2003 and went on to win four Grammys, although he did not attend the ceremony.

The artist dominated the rhythm and blues world for more than 20 years, his 14 albums selling more than 25 million records and winning a total of eight Grammy awards in the latter part of his three-decade career.

Vandross was considered the premier soul balladeer of his generation, with a silky voice that seduced millions of fans and won over collaborators such as David Bowie and Aretha Franklin. He became a fixture on the urban music charts, and wrote for artists like Franklin, Diana Ross and Dionne Warwick, but mainstream success eluded him until 1989, when he had his first Top 10 pop hit with "Here and Now," a track tacked onto a compilation album. That song has since become something of a classic wedding ballad.

A Teletubby tummy? I do not think so...

Agnes has repeatedly said that my tummy resembles a Teletubby. Anyone who knows me knows that not to be true. I mean I am underweight. Anyone can see that. But rather than rant about it and flog a dead horse, let me present irrefutable evidence that I do not have a 'teletubby tummy'.

Exhibit A:

This picture was taken after I had taken a nice seafood dinner at East Coast Park a few days back. So pardon the flab. But as you can see no 'teletubby tummy'.

Exhibit B:

This is an artists impression of my body taken a few months back. See? No sign of a teletubby tummy here either.

Exhibit C:

I even had an arty picture done. Cool eh?

Just for comparisons sake, here are a few random pictures of Teletubbies. See if can spot anything similar between them and the pictures of me posted above...

Another Xiaxue commentary

Wendy posted another of her tirades, this time on being burnt by a lit cigarette.

You can read in in full here.

Anyway, after I had done the eye-rolling thing and let out an almost inaudible sigh at the juvenile rant I got to thinking...

In a room full of smokers is there such a thing as first-hand and second-hand smoke? This applies especially to places like clubs and bars where smoke just abour permeates the entire room and the only way to escape it is to go outside. Not that it is any better, as people do 'step out for a smoke'.

So everyone is inhaling the smoke from their own cigarettes as well as the secondary smoke from the other smokers in the room.

This make me think of a few Garmen slogans:

Smoke alone, you will live longer.

Do not exhale unless absolutely necessary.

Use a paper bag over your head.Smoke your own smoke.

Keep a safe distance from the smoker in front of you.

If you drink, don't smoke.

Corny I know, but what to do? Life is like that sometimes (whatever that entails)

What is Scientology?

With Tom Cruise making an ass of himself on national TV, people are asking 'What is Scientology?'

So here is what I got off the official site

The aims of Scientology are a world without insanity, without criminals, without war, where the able can prosper and where Man is free to rise to greater heights.

And if you were to ask any Scientologist they would tell you it is a practical religion, with practical answers — tools that can be applied to achieve greater awareness and purpose in the here and now.

Or, as we say it, when you have the answers to life's questions — there is virtually no part of existence it cannot be applied to for the betterment of life itself.

What people need are real solutions, real tools to deal with and effectively overcome human problems.

Every one of us has experienced it.

Think back yourself and you'll remember when you tried to help a grieving loved one, a struggling child, a friend overcome by addiction.

And where you have failed, it's only because you lacked effective answers to accomplish what you desired.

There is even a free Personality Test

The benefits of Scientology are as follows:

The Scientology religion is about the individual man or woman. Its goal is to bring an individual to a sufficient understanding of himself and his life and free him to make improvements where he finds them necessary and in the ways he sees fit.
Scientology is a workable system. Evidence may be seen in the lives of millions of Scientologists and the positive effect they create. People improve their lives through Scientology principles. As Scientologists in all walks of life will attest, they have enjoyed greatest success in their relationships, family life, jobs and professions. This web site contains some of these successes.

It also provides suggested books, materials and courses one can do to learn and apply Scientology principles and apply them to one’s life to create successful relationships, deal with stress, communicate with others and resolve family problems and more, all on the road to true spiritual freedom.

in short: Scientology can help you with...

What a girl means when she says :

What a gal says: “Oh, those are the cutest trainers! Where did you get them?” What she really means: “Wow, it’s really admirable of you to shop in your local Oxfam! I prefer Selfridges myself.”

What a gal says: “I am so exhausted this morning! Anyone want to split a triple mocha latte from Starbucks?” What she really means: “My sex life is so active, vibrant, and physically fulfilling as to make yours seem nonexistent by comparison. Plus, I make more than you do, so I can afford to splurge on exotic beverages.” (Note for clueless guys: a “triple mocha latte” is a teaspoonful of black coffee mixed with a quarter of milk and a Hershey’s bar.)

What a gal says: “Like, totally! I completely agree! You did exactly the right thing!” What she really means: “I’m sorry, I wasn’t listening. Can we talk about my life now?”

What a gal says: “Anyway, so I gave him the number, but it’s not like I expect him to call or anything.” What she really means: “I gave him the number, but notice I didn’t say I gave him my number. I hope the folks in the retirement home go easy on him.”

What a gal says: “So Marcus at the salon says I’m an Autumn, but that can’t be right because I’m always wearing summery clothes. Plus I’m a Gemini, and Gemini is, like, totally a Winter. What do you think?” What she really means: “I hate these uncomfortable silences. Won’t somebody else say something so I don’t have to listen to the sound of random thoughts rattling around inside my skull?”

What a gal says: “You know how it is. All the good ones are either gay or married.” What she really means: “Hey, I have an idea! Maybe if we didn’t spend all our time huddled together like a high-school cheerleading squad, some guy might work up the nerve to actually approach one of us and ask us out on a date!”

What a gal says: “Gosh, I’m not very hungry today. I’ll just have the arugula salad.” What she really means: “Gosh, how can you people live with yourselves? Maybe you wouldn’t have to work out at the gym three times a week if you weren’t always pigging out on cheeseburgers and french fries.” (Note for clueless guys: “arugula” is lettuce, but better-looking and three times as expensive.)

What a gal says (glancing in your direction): “Hey, who’s that geeky guy who keeps looking at us? He’s totally freaking me out.” What she really means: “Hey, who’s that geeky guy who keeps looking at us? He’s totally freaking me out.”

Steve's Story: Special Edition

It was on TV12 today. The part that really touched me was the part where Steve Irwin,Mr Crocodile Hunter himself, related the events lead to the untimely demise of Chillie, his dog. He was literally in tears as he was talking about how she was shot by an overzealous hunter on a routine wild pig hunt. The hunter accidentally shot Chillie when he was aiming for the wild pig. Chillie was like Steve's best friend for many years, and they would go out on their crocodile catching trips together. Steve was devastated by her death and was in mourning for a while after that. Just watching that on TV was so emotional. I was close to tears just watching it, let alone Steve. God only knows the turmoil he went through during the loss of his very best friend in the entire world, under such trying circumstances at that.

On the celebrity front...

Ran into Xiaxue the other day at Marina Square while I was there with Agnes on Wednesday. She was with her 2 friends. Was nice yet a bit disenchanting to see her all at once. She is exactly how she looks in her photoshopped pictures. Yet she seemed all too human now. So Her Highness is flesh and bones after all.

Also met the runner up guy from Eye for a Guy,Howard Lo at Harvey Norman today. he was looking at some vacuum cleaners. How...so very... domestic...

And lastly, a sport presenter guy (I was thinking Hamish Brown, but he was not) sat in front of me during Bible Study today. Did not help that he is rather tall and beefy. But it was ok. I more than matched him there.

Sunny's woes

Sunny's starter gave today. I called the AA in the afternoon and the guy got him started again using the coolest thing I seen using the battery cable. Gotta try that method sometime.
After I got it started I drove to one the workshops near Yishun Industrial Park. The guy there said there was nothing wrong with the car when he found it could start easily. I took his word for it as I did not know better.
Drove back to office and continued my work. After work, I prepared to drive home but once more Sunny could not start. I called the AA again and luckily this time a different guy came down. I would not know where to put my face if the same guy had come as the first time. After all the advice he gave me, the same shit happened. Paiseh lah.

The second AA guy used a hammer. Less cool, but no less effective.

Once the car got started, I dropped off Ko Koh at the MRT and headed to Sin Ming to get the starter done once and for all. It was already late but the nice people there did the job anyhow. I like them. They seem sincere especially the elder brother. They were the same guys that did my battery a few months back. Left a good impression on me for the good job and service they did the last time round, that they immediately sprung to mind when I faced this new problem.

Job done, it was time to pay for services rendered. Problem was they did not have a NETS or credit facility. So I took the elder brother in my car to Thomson Plaza where I withdrew the necessary cash from the POSB atm and drove him back to the workshop. All the while we had a good chat about life and Singapore...

Such a nice guy. Will be back again soon (not too soon I hope!).

Agnes is away in Cameron Highlands now...

And I am stuck here in Singapore!

Think this is the longest we have been apart since we got together. She left on Thursday morning and will be back earliest Monday. So between now and then I have to do all that is humanly possible to keep myself occupied with the mundane things that make up my daily existence.

Aren't Fat Boy Slim's music video's the coolest?

The MTV for The Joker just came on and it is hilarious. It has little, cutesey kittens in human situations. Awww.... bwaahaaahhaaaa

His other vids are not too shabby either...

Batman Begins

Watched it the other day with my darling.

I enjoyed it for the most part, although it was draggy at parts, which is unavoidable if you are going for character development. So we got to see the circumstances leading Bruce Wayne to don the cape and how the alter-ego of the bat came about.

Christian Bale was passable in the leading role all things considered. As with all the others who have donned the cape before him, he was at time overwhelmed by the character. Christopher Nolan's vision for Batman Begins remained true to the comic book and not the high camp that plagued the other Batman big screen adaptations that preceded it. And we are all the more thankful for it.

The supporting cast consisting of heavyweights like Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman,Liam Neeson and Michael Caine really added to the show. Michael Caine in particular stole the show in every scene he was in, in the role of the butler ,Alfred.

My main grouse in the film is the casting of Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes. She is a horrible actress and sucks the life out of every scene that she was in. She does not even look the part, dammit! The more I think about it, it is all a media stunt to hype on the coat tails of the Tom Cruise- Katie Holmes publicity machine.

I must say this is the best overall Batman film yet made. Cannot wait for the sequel...

RATING: 4 Batmobiles out of 5

movies I wanna catch next: War of the Worlds & Fantastic Four

Song of the Moment: Childhood

After his acquittal at his recently concluded trial, seems like Michael jackson is the favour of the month on radio stations all over the globe. His songs receive extensive airplay on all the radio stations these days...

Have you seen my childhood
I'm searching for the world
That I come from
'Cause I've been looking around
In the lost and found of my heart
No one understands me
They view it
As such strange eccentricities ...
'Cause I keep kidding around
Like a child
but pardon me ...

People say I'm not okay
'Cause I love such elementary things ...
It's been my fate
To compensate
For the childhood I've never known ...

Have you seen my childhood?
I'm searching for that wonder
In my youth
Like pirates and
Adventurous dreams
Of conquest and
Kings on the throne ...

Before you judge me
Try hard to love me
Look within your heart then ask
Have you seen my childhood?

People say I'm strange that way
'Cause I love such elementary things
It's been my fate
To compensate
For the childhood I've never known ...

Have you seen my childhood?
I'm searching for that wonder
In my youth
Like fantastical
Stories to share
The dreams I would dare

Watch me fly ...

Before you judge me
Try hard to love me
The painful youth
I've had

Have you seen my childhood ...

20 more things I learnt from Agnes...

1) Quality not quantity. It is not how much time you spend together, but how much together time you spend.

2) Whatever you do is fun if you do it together.

3) Picanto's come in too many colours.

4) A round headed tortoise on your dashboard can be very becoming.

5) The fastest way to a mans heart is money if the man is your dad.

6) You do not have to speak the same language to be understood.

7) A single bed is big enough for 2 if you cuddle up really closely.

8) A woman has better taste in clothes than any man.

9) Some things are worth waitng for...

10) It is the little things that matter most.

11) Your parents are the most important thing in this world. Treasure them while they are with you, although you may not always agree with their crap.

12) Never wear a skirt to avoid ribbing later on.*blush*

13) A good time does not cost anything.*wink*

14) Some people have extremely kissable lips...

15) That it is humanly possible to be friends with a member of the opposite sex and have your significant other give you her stamp of approval.

16) A little chihuahua on a leash is a good way to meet members of the opposite sex.

17) Time spent apart only make your moments together seem that much more special.

18) That some people do live happily ever after like in the storybook fairy tales.

19) Never judge a book by it's cover. Sometimes life brings you surprises in the most unexpected of places.

20) There is a whole world out there waiting to be discovered...together.

Camou News Update

Camou seems well except for the fact that he seems to be favouring his left hind leg a little more than the others. But besides that he is back to striking terror into the very heart of catty-dom and humankind.Which is always a good sign (to me at least, not so sure if my parents and the cats share my enthusiasm).

My Word!

Pastor Prince has been away the last few weeks. And in that time I have seen the coming of age of 2 men of God.

I do love listening to the anointed preaching of Pastor Prince. In my mind at least he is the most gifted and anointed preachers that I have ever had the grace to sit of the feet of to learn about God.

pastor2
Pastor Prince

More often than not his messages address my concerns as a believer. He may have his critics, but I do feel that his messages cut closest to the heart of what the Gospel is all about despite what others may say.

joshua
Pastor Joshua

I have grown more as a person and a believer in the last few years than I have at any of the other churches I used to worship at. It has all to do with how Pastor's messages empower the christian believer in his daily walk rather than makes them feel like small ants in the presence of an almighty God. Sons rather than servants..

Anyway since Pastor Prince has been away Pastor Joshua has taken over his duties. Once upon a time Pastor Joshua was just like the stand-in guy when Pastor Prince was not around. But this time around he has really come into his own. And during this period Pastor Lawrence also began to preach. In a way Pastor Joshua has become a father-like figure in the church. Although he is a few years older than Pastor Prince, he always seemed like a lesser alternative most times. Attendances dropped and some people were even seen leaving the auditorium when they realised he was the preacher that day.(*silly idiots. such people have probably lost sight of the crux of the message when they see the person and not the Jesus being proclaimed from the pulpit.*)

lawrence
Pastor Lawrence

In a way Pastor Prince has become synonymous with New Creation Church. Larger than life if you would. So it is good to see the other pastors given an opportunity to shine. And thankfully all of them rose to the occasion. Although Pastor Lawrence's maiden sermon was fine, with room for improvements though, he did show a growing maturity and in due time we will see him taking the mic again. And Pastor Joshua has managed to etch out his own identity apart from Senior Pastor which is well and good, since a church should never be cult.

Something about Nadia..

After the interview thingy we did people wanna know what the relationship is between me and ole Nad's.

Let's start at the beginning...

I have known Nadia for what...6 to 7 years. I first met her at the zoo when I was working there. She was volunteering there and her sis Natt kinda introduced us if I remember correctly. We seem to hit it off quite well after that. It was not hard to do with all the goons that work at the zoo. So due to not having anyone other than each other to talk to we became fast friends. We enjoyed many hours on the photography mound together educating the public that snakes were not slimy or evil. And the payoff was when a once scared person left the photography with a new found respect for the reptiles. That in itself was worth all the other shit I went through during my tenure there.

Of course our friendship extended beyond the gates of the zoo as well. We became close as we found in each other a kindred spirit in whom we could confide. Nadia was a young girl on the cusp of womanhood at the time. They were heady days when she would speak to me about matters of the heart and family stuff. All the pains that growing up was about.
I guess we became close enough that I considered her my 'sister' and she for her part considered me her 'brother'. It was obvious we were comfortable in one another's company so the rumour mill was in full force. People with nothing better to do speculated to our relationship. It became quite the scandal at the time. Of course things were always platonic between us, but we milked it for all that it was worth.
Eventually though the murmurings reached the ears of Joyce (my ex) who felt we were too close for comfort. She never liked Nadia, and us being close for whatever reason. But through it all we stuck together and I never regretted one moment of it...

In fact through all the years we only had one bust up. Amazing considering that we are both Scorpios and highly passionate about life and such. The quarrel we had was when I felt her teasing was going too far beyond what was acceptable. Nadia was kidding with Agnes on MSN about me and said some stuff that I took exception to. I over-reacted and we had a bit of a cold war for a few days thereafter.

But things are cool now between us.

And I am looking forward to...in PAP-speak...More Good Years!

Do check out her blog also at http://www.starryluvly.blogspot.com
It is a good read. In fact it was her who got me into blogging in the first place...

Kenny Sia was here!

Kenny was in Singapore.

He is the dashing young man on the right.

He proved to be a hit with all the ladies. And rightfully so too. He comes across as unassuming and self-depreciating. Not to mention he looks like a teddy bear whome all girls would bring home to meet their mothers and give bear hugs to.

It was probably the worst kept secret in the local blogosphere that he was coming judging by the turnout at Hideout. Anyone who was anyone in local blogging was there (well..almost).

BTW..Kenny recently won the Blog of the Year award. Well done! A most deserving winner.

rachelle called today..

She called when I was in the shower so I was unable to pick up her call. When I called back after she said she would call me back but she never did. She did sound kinda tired/sad though...

Wonder what happened. I did leave her an SMS but she has not replied as of yet...

new reader?

Let's all welcome Hui Lin. She started reading my blog yesterday(this morning depending how you look at it). Did not leave any comments though...

guitar classes

Agnes is gonna sign up for guitar classes at the CC near her place. And it looks like I will not be joining her by the sound of things.

Another reason for us to be apart again...

have you been naked lately?

As the hoo-haa over SarongPartyGirl's bared chest abates, and the loud minority find themselves drowned out by her supporters, it is timely that we address the question of nudity. Not nakedness but nudity...

nakedness: Having no clothing on the body; nude.

nudity: Having no clothing; naked.

Err...right.... thanks for that very helpful definition...

Maybe this definition of nudity is slightly better:

An unclothed human figure, especially an artistic representation

Of all of God's creations. the human body is definitely the finest. Definitely better than any sunset or sunrise, or any mountain view, or any river. Although some may beg to differ, it is indeed beautiful.

But sadly though the reality for most of us is that our bodies are too fat/thin/short/long...the list goes on. We are conditioned to hate our bodies and by extention ourselves. We are inculcated with a belief that nakedness is dirty and unsuitable for young eyes. I even know of young girls who have never actually seen their own genitalia, or so they claimed. Such are the depths to which our culture has made us ignorant to the beauty that each and everyone of us possess within ourselves. We are conditioned to treat nudity as sin. Good boys and girls do not look at the naked human form lest they go blind.

I find that SPG's picture's were a celebration of her blossoming sexuality and were never meant to titillate or to be construed to be in any way obscene. But the perverts among us chose to focus unnecessarily on an exposed nipple and sounded the alarm of the impending collapse of society as we know it.

Of course the fact that she was a singaporean made all the difference in the world. If it was someone of a different nationality it would have been accepted as the art that it was. But since it was a young singaporean girl, it became porn and a nation rose in unison to condemn her for her crime. It is funny how nary a day goes by that we hear some pseudo-celebrity comment on SPG's picture(s). It is like overnight everyone has become a critic.

Anyway...what was my point...ohh...I forget...sometimes...

One more thing to add to my list of things I do not enjoy...

Insufficient Parking Lots

One of my pet peeves is waiting (or circling) a parking lot waiting for a lot to become available. I just hate it. Singaporeans love to complain about how expensive it is to own a car. But it seems to me everyone and everyone's brother, sister and mother has a car. And they always seem to want to park in the same places I want to park.

For example yesterday, I was caught at East Coast Park trying in vain to find a spot near the food centre. It was really packed! Literally bumper-to-bumper traffic! In the end I had to drive around to near where the chalets were to find a lot. Although it was also rather packed there as well, at least it was not bumper-to-bumper like at the food centre area.

Then it was dinner time. We drove over to Bedok Central for dinner. Once more it was packed with cars all with the singular purpose of finding alot. We waited nearly 20 minutes I think for a lot to become available. It was only when a kindly gentleman pointed out to us a lot that we were able to get one.

Which brings me to my solution. No point whining and bitching about something if I have no idea how to make it better. My solution? Build more multi-storey car parks. That seems to be the only way pass this problem. That is what they are doing on Sentosa Island toease the parking woes there. And the government can do the same for all popular spots such as East Coast and major satellite town centres. Of course that may make car ownership more enticing which would be detrimental to their efforts to encourage public transportation...
