15 days to go

Today I was out with the girls (Wee Ling, and of course Agnes). We collected the wedding bands from Lee Hwa, as they were ready. Turns out that Agnes's ring is a tad big. We may have to do something about that. After collecting the rings we adjourned to OG. The Centrepoint. Then to John Littles. I managed to snag a couple of pants. The girls did some shopping of their own *wink wink*.
I had my last meal at about 6.30 pm yesterday. I did not have breakfast nor lunch by the time I picked up Wee Ling earlier. So expectedly by around 5 I was close to fainting. I had no energy and even had to lean on stuff as I waited for the girls to do their stuff.
After Orchard, we headed down to City Hall. WL (not whitelion...wee ling lah)had not been there despite hearing so much about the Equinox Complex. So we thought it good to bring her there. We got there round about 6. The place was already filling up but somehow we managed to snag a table by the window. Too bad the New Asia bar faces a side of Singapore than is not as picturesque as the other parts of Equinox, but still the view was pretty good. The suaku-ness in us came to the surface as we all took pictures of one another with our camera phones and such. Curiously I had a drink called Gentle Testicals. WL had a Blue Equinox. My dear had a mocktail with-a-name-that-I-can't-for-the-life-of-me-remember-at-this-time.
Then we ventured over to Lavender boutique to check out their line of clothes. We were there last week and they were closed for renovations. So we payed them a due visit today. I must admit their line of dresses are great for those special occasions and formal events. The only downside is their prices which go for $300 upwards.
Then it was time for dinner. After much ado we finally decided on Cosy Bay at tanjong Rhu. So I drove over there and we had a pleasant dinner before I sent Agnes and then our dear friend, WL home.
**************************

We finally booked the venue for our post-solemnisation do. It is at the Singapore Art Museum along Bras Basah. We book the whole darn Dome Cafe for our use that day for a few hours. The whole shindig costs us $600++. But I think it is gonna be worth it.
**************************

Also been busy and stressed out over the HDB stuff. This is so unlike me to get worked up over stuff like this. I am mostly able to deal with problems as they come. To the point of even seeming 'bo chap' or complacent. But the wedding and HDB stuff is unchartered waters for me hence my apprehension. But with most of the wedding stuff settled, and the HDB stuff going acording to plan I should be fine. But I am not.
***********************************

Eggy is our ring bearer and ring cushion all in one!
*************************************

Probably gonna get Sunny's road tax done tomorrow or saturday.
*********************************

Saturday's plans are still up in the air. Seems that it does provide a chance for us to spend some time with Agnes's folks. But that is if all the stars align. We still need to look for our respective shoes for our Big Day. There is Pirate's of the Carribbean to be watched. We may wanna go back to school or head down to Green Valley. Then there is the option to go to Sentosa to catch the show at Siloso Beach. Muffy and Scruffy may need some atention then. Probably miss listing out some other stuff we could do on saturday here.
****************************

Think I need a new printer. My HP PSC 2210 All-In-One has been out of sorts for a while now. It is now quite a chore to even get it on, let alone to scan/copy/print/fax anything. So I may have to eventually invest in a new one sooner rather than later.
***********************

Have yet to upload or even edit the pictures for Agnes's plants. Then there are still other pictures on my camera phone and camera that need to be edited then posted up.
*************************

It is nearly 1 am now. Tomorrow (rather today) is Friday. Working on saturday, which is always a drag. So it is time to head to bed.....

Council Worker

I was recently given the link to this blog. I must say it is hilarious reading about the goings-ons in the city council.

Scarily though, is how I find so much of our own Public Service being paralled with the ineptitude of our buddies in the UK

"Ouuuch!!! My dick got caught in the zipper!"

A real life story by eastcoastlife on her blog.

All I can say is... ouch!

A poor guy gets his dick stuck in his zipper (as the title subtly suggests) and the ensuing mirth and humiliation of one man.

forest for the trees

I just do not quite get it. And probably do not want to know. One of them situations where you end up in deep shite no matter which side you take,or still get mud slung your way if you stand in the middle.

Which then brings me to..I VISITED NOEL's WORKPLACE! Agnes and myself were in the vicinity running some errands for our solemnisation, and droppped by Bar None. Since it was early there were no crowds yet and we managed to talk to the 'manager' and have a couple of drinks (non-alcoholic I might add). The place was freezing then. Me and Agnes had a hard time making it through without getting pnemonia.

We were in town looking for wedding bands and clothes for our big day. We easily managed to get the wedding bands from Lee Hwa. There was already a discount on top of my membership discount! So we managed to save quite a bundle. Then it was on to the clothes side of things. I did not get anything, Agnes bought a nice pink number from Taka for next to nothing as I utilised my gift vouchers. A nice dress which she may or may not use on the actual day.

I had parked at Singapore Power, which was a good idea due to its proximity to Orchard, the ease of finding a lot in the middle of the Great Singapore Sale 2007 and lastly the cheap hourly parking rates. Will park there again if ever I need to go to any of the shopping centres in the close vicinity.

Bought the new Linkin Park album,Minutes to Midnight. Just love it. It is now on regular play on Sunny's turntable.

Been a little beside myself with all the preparations for the wedding and new flat. But we have managed to get a lot done recently which is good. Noel is helping us procure a videographer and maybe even the venue and catering for the ROM reception. In the meantime I will call Dome tomorrow to check out what is on offer, as they claim to do functions like ROM,birthdays etc. The on duty manager was unable to entertain us on friday so I have to call tomorrow again.

On Friday Agnes, me and Wee Ling hit the town looking for a dress for my darling dearest. We scoped out Haji Lane but found nothing. We then headed to Hotel Rendezvous for more of the same to much the same effect. Then it was dessert time at Mr Bean's. Then sent the ladies home.

Oh did I mention that I belatedly proposed to Agnes? Well..I did. A another story for another time.
I guess the realities of living in the sunny island of Singapore is that if ya wanna get a flat ya have to be married. So that kinda takes out all the romance out of getting married. instead of saying "Will you marry me?", we ask "Shall we apply for a flat?". So in our case we kinda worked backwards in that we applied for the flat, registered to be married, proposed and then asked for her folks blessings. In between we shopped for the rings, let my parents know what was afoot, invited our guests, looked for venues for the reception and all. Too late to go back in time to do things the right way, so all I can hope to do is make my sweetie happy despite all the shortcomings and rush to get hitched.

Applied for the Home Loan Eligibility(HLE) today. And also managed to discuss some of the finer details of our flat selection with Agnes. Agnes may or may not have to get a Statutory Declaration of her sate of employment done. Then there is the little issue of submitting the documents for HLE.

Agnes's tree for her experiments was found cut down when I was at Green Valley the other day. So we are gonna investigate next week on what actually transpired as the boss of the joint had verbally agreed to leave the tree untouched.

Movies:
Pirates of the Caribbean:At World's End
On this week. Agnes and me will try to find time to catch it this week if schedules allow.

Shrek the Third
Opens next week. A can't miss hit. Shrek,Fiona, Donkey,Puss-in-Boots and the rest are back to induce belly aching fun.

Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer
Opens June 14. another one worth watching. seems to be one of those sequels that is even better than the original.

Livepool got beat in Athens by AC Milan in the finals of the Champions League 2-1. sigh
