blox

as you can see I have an ever increasing list of blogs on my list.

here are some of my favourites:

Kenny Sia

The funniest guy. But he can be serious too. A good combination of fun and serious.His photo essays are always a hoot.

Mr.Brown

Been a fan of his for years. And now he is the king of bloggers. At least I can say I was there when he was a nobody. Hee...

Xiaxue

She exemplifies all that is good and bad about bloggerdom. Funny, witty and altogether a good read. On the flip side of the coin she can be petulant,immature and a media whore. Take your pick.

Big Fuck

The new kid on the blog (Hahaa..geddit?). Funny like Kenny. Can be like Xiaxue too. But a blog that is good if only for his regular feature, Babe of the Day. The resident rebel without a cause.

Botak Gorilla

This guy is a hoot. Closest comparison I can make is to Kenny Sia.

Mr Miyagi

Like Mr. Brown one of the elder statesmen (they are gonna kill me) of the Singapore Blogosphere. But he has some of that Big Fuck in him too (it is not what it sounds like).

Christine

Umm...love her header picture. Coolest thing.

Shelly

A girl who loves to walk the road less travelled. Read as she tells of her days leading up to *insert here* (baby? ROM? new house? wedding? new tattoo?...)

A new favourite ... Sarong Party Girl

Been around a while now but only recently has she made a splash into the mainstream with her infamous nude pics. Love her unconventional views on life. Better still she can walk the walk as well as talk the talk.

Song of the moment

Something
Is about to give
I can feel it coming
I think I know what it is

I'm not afraid to die
I'm not afraid to live
And when I'm flat on my back
I hope to feel like I did

And hardness
It sets in
You need some protection
The thinner the skin

I want you to know
That you don't need me anymore
I want you to know
You don't need anyone
Or anything at all

Who's to say where the wind will take you
Who's to say what it is will break you
I don't know
Which way the wind will blow

Who's to know when the time has come around
Don't want to see you cry
I know that this is not goodbye

It's somewhere I can taste the salty sea
There's a kite blowing out of control on the breeze
I wonder what's gonna happen to you
You wonder what has happened to me

I'm a man
I'm not a child
A man who sees
The shadow behind your eyes

Who's to say where the wind will take you
Who's to say what it is will break you
I don't know
Where the wind will blow

Who's to know when the time has come around
I don't want to see you cry
I know that this is not goodbye

Did I waste it
Not so much I couldn't taste it
Life should be fragrant
Rooftop to the basement

The last of the rocks stars
When hip-hop drove the big cars
In the time when new media
Was the big idea
What was the big idea

feelings...nothing more than feelings...

All the hoohaa over the 'scandalous' picture of Sarong Party Girl has only just begun. Much ado about a nipple. One belonging to a Singaporean no less. I guess it is the first time anyone from these shores has seen a nipple judging by the adverse reaction.
The general consensus in the blogosphere has been supportive. We feel slightly taken aback by it, but we whole-heartedly applaud her bravado. She is a woman for goodness sake. How she chooses to explore her sexuality is her own business. Heck.. even her mum and dad are standing behind her on this. And how she is handling all the bad publicity is pure class. Reading her recent entries really show she is a level headed girl who knows what she wants out of life. So who am I to judge her.

Speaking of handling bad publicity, one fellow blogger (who likes pink, wears lotsa make-up and has a fake tan) made a post about the sarongpartygirl. I am a fan of xiaxue (oops..did i mention her name??) to a certain extent> I enjoy her posts and comments. But ever so often (more so lately) she seems to cross the line of decency and class. Her comments were uncalled for and unwarranted. Especially from someone who is the top blogger in Singapore (hits wise). It is one thing to offer an opinion on the matter. But to get personal and poke fun at breast shape and nipples (complete with diagrams somemore) is low. Shows she has some growing up to do. Make that growing up and being more responsible for what comes out of her mouth!
..........

Tomorrow is Agnes and mine's 4th month together. All at once it seems so have all passed so fast, yet at times soooo sloooooow. It feels like we been together for so long but it has only been 4 measly months. Yet at the same time so much has cum...I mean ... come.. and gone in the last 4 months that we have not been able to quite grasp it and take it all in. Agnes is someone whom I can be myself with most times with,for better or for worse, so much so that it is a natural fit. Wish we could have been together sooner. How much sweeter my world would have been...

..........

We are going to Sentosa and cycling at east coast this weekend. Not quite figured when. Most probably gonna be Sentosa today and the other one tomorrow.

. . . . . . . . . .

Simona is back! Probably gonna meet up with her. Let her get to meet Agnes too! Maybe we can get Natt to join us too, as she is itching to meet up again too, if all parties concerned are agreeable.

. . . . . . . . . . .

Nadia and I have yet to do our online interview. I hear she already has her questions ready. Gonna be a real eye opener.
But she has been tied up with her new job...

. . . . . .. . . . . . .. .

My new pastime: taking pictures of Picanto's as I drive around. dangerous I know...
Will post the pictures soon...

....... . . . . . . . .... . .. .

for our third anniversary I gave Agnes a doggie jigsaw. This time I have something even better I think. It is so cute. I almost wanna keep it for myself. Will post the pictures tomorrow. Cannot do it now as I want Agnes to be the first to see it...

.. . . . . . . .. . . . ..

Bought my dad a Swiss Army Knife for Father's Day tomorrow. Cool thing. Does everything (well almost). I am sure he will put it to good use.

I have a printer cum fax cum scanner cum copier. Problem now I have no idea how to make the photo cartridge work. So when I try to print pictures it draws ink from the colour catridge instead of the photo cartridge. Strangest thing.

Still yet to do the link thing i was supposed to do. Maybe it was not such a good idea after all.Will do it for a few IMPORTANT people though.

______________

Wanna watch Batman Begins. Looks and feels so cool. Finally the real Batman is back.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Watched Mr and Mrs Smith with Agnes. A throughly enjoyable movie if you love action comedy films. There is good chemistry between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. So much so that Brad got divorced from Jennifer Aniston after filming ended. Talk about a back story. I recommend anyone go watch it. My only grievance is how Brad's character got portrayed as a worldly-wise one man army type spy and Angelina was part of this high tech espionage organisation. Did not seem a fair fight. But maybe that was the effect the producers were going for. The classic David and Goliath type scenario. The ending was a bit incredulous too. Two renegade spies take on the combined forces of both their spy organisations..and win!
4 months have passed and still me and Agnes's mum still have the 'chicken and duck' thing going on. Feel so stupid at times. I do know some mandarin but lack the confidence to speak it for any length of time. Agnes's mum can speak some english too, but for very much the same reasons she fails to engage me in it.
And Agnes has lots of fun at our expense because of it.....
The Guide to Blogging Etiquette
Since there's been much talk about blogging properly, here's my easy guide for noobies on blogging etiquette:
1. Always bow before you blog.
2. When you blog, do remember that the knife
goes in the right hand, and the fork in the left.
3. Always end your posts
with "thank you, it's been wonderful talking to all of you. Godspeed."
4.
Polite bloggers NEVER use the words "asshat" or "aardvark". Whether "sexy
motherf***er" can be said in polite company remains a matter of much contention.
Particularly on the question of how to pronounce asterisks.
5. The proper
way to end a first blog is with a little kiss. No tongue.
6. And,
especially, no tongue down there.
7. Remember, if you forget which keys to
use, a simple little memory trick is that you should start from the outside and
work your way inside. Hence, posts like "poiuy!" are the height of decorum.
8. When someone visits your blog, be sure to offer drinks.
9. If you are
a male blogger and said visitor is female, please remember to raise your hat
when the visitor enters your blog.
10. Yes, you must have a hat.
Thank you. It's been wonderful talking to all of you. Godspeed.
Some say I look like a...
Teletubby:
C3-PO:
Commander Data:
A Chipmunk:
As you can clearly see I resemble none of the above...
My day at playing church..
Went to church today as I usually do on Sundays. Problem is that I forgot my wallet. I left it in by waist pouch and not on the table top like I usually do. Out of sight out of mind. My habit as I leave the house is to grab the stuff I need from the table top. My handphone, my housekeys, my car keys, my coin pouch, my ring, my glasses,my chain,MY WALLET...
One of 2 things, make that 3 things, that I never leave home with are my handphone, wallet... and now my relationship ring. I feel lost without anyone one of those. I did not realise until I had reached Millenia that I did not have my wallet with me. Suddenly all possible worst-case scenarios came to mind,
"What if I run out of fuel.."
"what if a cop pulls me over and asks to see my drivers license.."
"Feel so hungry right now, what if I die midway through church service from starvation..."
"How the hell do I pay my parking fees to get out of the car park without a cash card???"
So I messaged Agnes I told her my situation. Smart move.
my options at that point:
1)go home.I had 15 minutes grace to get out without any parking charge.
2) leave Sunny there and go home to get my wallet after church. They charge a flat fee of $2/- on Sundays so it did not matter how long I was parked.
3)Leave Sunny there and meet Agnes to get money to do whatever needed to be done. See option #2.
4)SOS my mum for help.
5)SOS Lyn and Poh for help. They would be in Suntec as around the same time as me.
6) somehow raise the money to buy a cashcard.
7) Get some kind soul to help me.
8) Do nothing.
9) Get my dearest to come down and save me.*Cue evil laughter and lightning*
So I tried option #5 first. Lyn and Poh were indeed in Suntec. They had attended the service just before mine and were still in the building at the time. The problem was I was already in the auditorium and they were already a good distance away from where I was. It would be inconvenient for them to meet me and for me to get out to meet them. Although Lyn was more than willing to come to my aid I thought better of it. So that was the end of that.
I also thought of asking the car park management if there was a way I could get out without a cashcard. I did have the $2 needed. I just did not have a cashcard per se.
But my way out was rather simpler. I just walked up to a couple who just so happened to be standing on one of the dividers waiting for something (someone?). So I casually walked up to them and asked them if I could borrow a cashcard and then pay them the amount used (in coins) back. The guy ,not wanting to be put in a bad light in front of the lady presumably,readily agreed to help. Not only did he help me with my cashcard-less situation. He even ran to me after I had cleared the gantry just to retrieve back his card. Best part was he did not even want the $2.
So now I am safely home and writing this post all thanks to the nice guy standing on a kerb in a humid car park for no apparent reason who was more helpful than most would ever be in the same situation.
Key word here: Pay It Forward.
sarongpartygirl.blogspot.com
this site was featured in the ST yesterday. Agnes picked up on it and we went to see what the fuss is all about.
As usual everyone was up in arms about this promiscious and somewhat exhibitionist young lady. She has nude pictures up on her site. This and her journal of her sexcapades and her general view about life got lots of people's panties in a tangle.
Reading her blog gives me the impression that she is a girl who knows what she wants in life. Her opinions and accounts tell me she is a smart girl and worldly-wise beyond her years.
I may not agree with her lifestyle nor do I subscribe to her views, but I do think people like her have as much as a right to live their own lives without being put up to public scrutiny and being judged by us.
Let he who has no sin cast the first stone I say.
This reminds me of other 'current affairs interest issues' that come up like for example the casino (read:integrated resort), abortion, Schappelle Corby or whatever have you. My view to such things nowadays is that although I may not patronise such an idea/concept that does not mean no one else should. We should all be held personally responsible for what we say or do. The choices we make in this life are ours and ours alone. We like with the consequences, good or bad, of the paths we choose to follow.
To each his own.
And ..ooh.. and the pictures are not bad either!
Cam's News Update
Camou is walking again!
I think he has a bit of a showman in him. Just when you think he is down and out, he makes a 'miraculous' recovery and is back to his old self once more. And just when you think all is fine and dandy he suddenly falls to pieces once more.
The doctors prognosis for Camou was rather bleak. Mind you this was as he was scampering happily across the examination table. Just goes to show you what these vets know. I heard all the crap and propaganda the doctor spewed about Camou and his kind. Just goes to show what he knows.
But as long as there is hope I will go on hoping that things will turn for the best and stay that way.
I am sure that is what Camou would want, if he could communicate. and if he could express opinions...
Song of the Moment: When I Look at the World
When you look at the world
What is it that you see
People find all kinds of things
That bring them to their knees
I see an expression
So clear and so true
That changes the atmosphere
When you walk into the room
So I try to be like you
Try to feel it like you do
But without you it's no use
I can't see what you see
When I look at the world
When the night is someone elses
And you're trying to get some sleep
When your thoughts are too expensive
To ever want to keep
When there's all kinds of chaos
And everyone is walking lame
You don't even blink now, do you
Or even look away
So I try to be like you
Try to feel it like you do
But without you it's no use
I can't see what you see
When I look at the world
I can't wait any longer
I can't wait till I'm stronger
I can't wait any longer
To see what you see
When I look at the world
I'm in the waiting room
Can't see for the smoke
I think of you and your holy book
While the rest of us choke
Tell me, tell me, what do you see
Tell me, tell me, what's wrong with me
