India has a Bill of Rights for cows.

Our office cat is in peril of being caught and then possibly euthanised. his crime? he so happens to live too near to the animal quarantine next door. So through no fault of his own, we have to either find a new home for him or risk him being captured. quite a pity as he is a very nice cat who deserves better than this. he has been with us for so long, but now finds himself as a sort of fugitive in his own home, as he is being displaced by 'expatriate' animals who now occupy the new quarantine centre next door.
so then it was up to us to find a good home. I had messaged my mum and she somehow managed to get Carol, an old friend of ours, to take in the cat. but after viewing the short video i sent her via MMS, mum and dad agreed that we could take him in at our place! So at least I will now be able to see him, which would not be the case had he gone to some other place.
of course there are concerns on my part on how he will adapt to life in a home, when all his life he has lived free to go as and when he pleased. it will indeed require effort and patience of all parties concerned to help the cat adapt to his new life. I have no idea how he will react to his new environment. but he is a good cat at heart, so I am hopeful he will make the transition.
There will obviously be some issues with personal space and with the other cats, namely Nico and UJ, but hopefully in time these issues will be ironed out.

anyway here are some videos of Putih (tink thats his name, although we did not formally name him)...though we often refer to him by the patently original moniker of 'Pussy Cat'....

really reminds me of good old Monky, only that he is street smart and well able to take care of himself.

The Three Wise Monkeys have names: Mizaru (See no evil), Mikazaru (Hear no evil), and Mazaru (Speak no evil).

Yesterday we went down to the bridal studio to select photos for our wedding albums and such. I must say that most of them came out better than expected. In fact we had a hard time narrowing down the number of pictures we had to select. In the end we had to pay extra so that we could have 2 albums instead of one. worth it since this is a one time expense for a once in a lifetime event. we also chose the covers of the albums and the photo frames for the photos we were gonna use for the wedding and then hang up at our flat.

still stuff to be done in regards to our big day:
- choose the songs to be played
- finalise the guest list
- go for the food tasting
- collect the chinese tea set
- prepare photographs for the video presentation

all i can think of right now, although there is definitely more to be done.

On friday I went down for an appreciation dinner at the Singapore Garden Festival. Funny how AVA and NParks have such different ways of running things. With all the problems at the office these days, it provides a stark contrast to the working conditions on the other side. I do not mind hard work as long as you get the recognition and respect for your efforts. any monetary or career advancement is a real bonus. At where I work we are treated as the red-haired step child of AVA. Our branch head is making every effort to make things as unpleasant as possible for us due to some personal vendettas. Staff morale is low and just about everyone is looking to either retire, get transferred or resign altogether. There is now an atmosphere of distrust in the previously cohesive team, as certain staff members are known to be ratting on others and divulging incriminating information on their colleagues.

which would make it nice to have a refuge from my problems at work. but alas recent events have made it difficult to find any peace of mind. In fact I find it hard to sleep some days with so many thoughts flashing through my head. Even my colleagues have been commenting on my change in demeanour the last couple of weeks. Some days I do not bother to come straight home after work. been hanging out at the bedok flat a lot more since that is now the only place where I can find solace these days. even considered moving out when the situation first arose, but cooler heads prevailed and I realised by doing so would be tantamount to running away from my problem. I once drove around aimlessly for over 3 hours just trying to make sense of things. but there are no real answers as to why things had to turn out this way.
