the days past...

American Idol stuff:
It is down to rocker dude Bo Bice and all-American,country gal Carrie Underwood. I have not been keenly following this season but one contestant that stuck out for me all season long was Carrie. I just think she has the Look which is more important than actual talent if you think about it. Bo Bice I am not so sure. Some say he is a hunk but he just does not do it for me. May have a little to do with my heterosexual tendencies...

Time magazine:
All that loss of life over a purported Koran/Quran burning.Just seems irresponsible if true.Time magazine says they are unable to substantiate the report due to unreliable sources. Not something you want to hear from an institution especially on a subject matter like this. Was a powder keg waiting for its fuse to be lit...

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith:
Watched it with Agnes on Thursday. Gonna review it soon too. Liked it. But I guess I went in with lots of expectations which no movie can ever live up to...really...
And the way George Lucas filmed them (episodes 4 to 6, then 1 to 3) leaves many non-afficiandos wondering how a movie could end on such a down note. Lent Hasli my DVD's for episodes 4 onwards. Hopefully that will shed some light for Faezah.

Rain:
I do not like rain. Been raining last few days. Rain means I have to stay indoors. Only time I think I really like rain is when I am all cuddled up under blankets with my sweetie-pie. Hope the rain today stops by afternoon. Maybe can go down with Agnes to the beach or somrthing. Alden is gonna be there.

mysterious white stuff:
still there. have turned off the pump figuring in my finite wisdom that thr pump may be contributing to the problem. It has helped in a way.If helping is that the white stuff just remains in one place and not swirling around the water's surface.

northbound:
Me and my dearie gonna drive up north tomorrow. Malaysia not Sembawang. Gonna spend a day there. Probably gonna gp to Desaru. Maybe Kota Tinggi. Possibly Malacca. Not sure of the details. We have not really sat down to discuss what we are gonna do. The plan so far: Drive into Malaysia.Spend a whole day there. Come back late at night. The rest is irrelevant!

The Piano:
Auntie Aggy having problems with her piano tuners again. They screwed up the tuning the last time and came back yesterday to do it again. Problem is this time they took away the cover for her piano keys. Grr.... bastards.... idiots... mother-fuckers!! bad after sales service so far...

3rd Month Anniversary:
Yayyyy!! Agnes and me are all of 3 months!! Yayyyyyy!! And what did we do to commemorate this joyous occasion? Guess? Wanna guess? We...*drumroll*...watched Star Wars and ate dinner at a hawker centre at Bedok!! *fireworks and confetti* Not quite a run-of-the-mill celebration but definitely a break from the norm. Our usual scenario would be a pricey dinner and a romantic walk. But not this time. Wonder what against-the-grain sort of celebration we can put together next month. When we look back and say it is only been 3 months together, it may seem short but it certainly does not feel that way to me at all. Feel like I have known her all my life. Which is not as bad as it sounds. Just does not feel like 3 months at all..
Made a jigsaw for Agnes and framed it up and all. She loves it. So proud of myself although I gave it to her a day too late.

All together now..."Awwwww..."
Agnes loves huskies and that was the only one I could find that had one.One out of three ain't bad odds.

Animalistic love:
was thinking for some reason about all my favourite animals. And I noticed a trend. Most of the animals I love have STRIPES (tigers..)or are SPOTTED(leopards/giraffes..). I love snakes for much the same reason as they invariablyhave some sort of markings on their bodies. I just do not have the same attraction towards animals in mono colours (horses,primates...)
Just thought something I should share here.

You might be a Redneck Jedi if...

You ever heard the phrase, "May the force be with y'all."

Your Jedi robe is camouflage.

You have ever used your light saber to open a bottle of Bud Light.

At least one wing of your X-Wings is primer coloured.

You can easily describe the taste of an Ewok.

You have ever had a land speeder up on blocks in your yard.

The worst part of spending time on Dagobah is the dadgum skeeters.

Wookies are offended by your B.O.

You have ever used the force to get yourself another beer so you didn't have to wait for a commercial.

You have ever used the force in conjunction with fishing/bowling.

Your father has ever said to you, "Shoot, son come on over to the dark side... it'll be a hoot."

You have ever had your R-2 unit use its self-defence electro-shock thingy to get the barbecue grill to light.

You have a confederate flag painted on the hood of your land speeder.

You ever fantasized about Princess Leia wearing Daisy Duke shorts.

You have the doors of your X-wing welded shut and you have to get in through the window.

Although you had to kill him, you kinda thought that Jabba the Hutt had a pretty good handle on how to treat his women.

You have a cousin who bears a strong resemblance to Chewbacca.

You suggested that they outfit the Millennium Falcon with redwood deck.

You were the only person drinking Jack Daniels during the cantina scene.

If you hear . . . "Luke, I am your father... and your uncle"

what a day (in the EPL)

West Bromwich Albion survive! Norwich, Crystal Palace and Southhampton go down to Division 1. What a final day!

West Brom reached 34 points and safety with a 2-0 home win over Portsmouth, becoming the first club to avoid relegation after being bottom at Christmas since the Premier League started.

Palace conceded a goal in the 82nd minute in a 2-2 draw at Charlton Athletic.

Palace's goal difference on 33 points kept them ahead of Norwich, who were crushed 6-0 at Fulham and Southampton's 27-year stay in the top flight ended on 32 points and a 2-1 defeat at home to Manchester United.

Middlesbrough pipped Manchester City to the final UEFA Cup slot after holding Stuart Pearce's men to a 1-1 draw. City's Robbie Fowler missed a stoppage-time penalty which allowed Boro to join Liverpool and Bolton Wanderers in Europe.

saturday in the doghouse

Worked today. Was hectic as saturdays always are. My winning streak continues as once again I showed my cashiering skills to be a cut above the rest. The foolishness of youth! Hee. Sin was not around to help out for most of the morning as he was out settling his accident stuff and did not return to office until 11 plus.

After work headed to the Esso station nearby to get my tyres changed. Cost me $80 for 2 tyres which I think is alright, although Sin begged to differ. With that done I went to That's Aquarium to buy a fish net and some filter sponge for my tank.

Went home.

Around 4 left the house to go and pick Agnes before heading back to my place. We had tea and fried keropok at my place.

Had dinner at a restaurant near Sembawang End. The part that pissed me off was the inclusion of 'auntie' Irene. I just cannot understand why my parents would include her in a so-called family occasion. Because of that bitch we had to wait for her at the bus stop as she was late in coming. It kind of ruined my entire dinner. If I had known I would probably have opted to have dinner with just me and my sweetie. And because of 'auntie' Irene dinner became a long and drawn out process. Thank god for the rain otherwise we would still be there chatting. By the time we got home it was already 10.30 which was too late to do the stuff Agnes and I had planned.
Sent Agnes home soon after. It was raining cats and dogs on the way there and back.

I was really looking forward to spending some time with Agnes as she had been away for a few days in Kuching. But I did not get to do it as I have had to share my precious with everyone else until now. I can be such a selfish bastard sometimes.
Anyway might be meeting Agnes on Sunday. Maybe then...

cat eyes

I think one of my previous post may have sparked off a debate about mata kucing and air mata kucing.Apparently mata kucing is longan. but air mata kucing is made from the dried longan of a particular species of longan Euphoria malaiensis (with a name like that makes you wonder if it taste as good as it sounds).see here>>>

'Air Mata Kucing. Cat's Eye Drink is actually dried longan boiled with winter melon. The refreshing icy brew is undoubtedly the most popular drink among the locals despite competition from imported ice-blended coffees.'

another site gave me this definition:

AIR MATA KUCING
Dried longan drink.

on yet another site I was enlightened by this:

Air Mata Kucing (Dried Longan Syrup)
