days of our lives

Where to start??

....
David Copperfield is coming to Singapore. never realised until the other day that Agnes was so into the guy. So as a fallout of that, we may actually be going to see his show.

DATE

02 Nov - 03 Nov 2007

Fri: 4pm, 7pm & 10pm
Sat: 12pm, 3.30pm & 7pm

Standard - S$148, S$128, S$98, S$68.
Amaze. Conjure. Magic. Escape. Illusion. Watch it all come true, every night.

Long hailed by audiences and critics alike as the greatest illusionist in the world, David Copperfield is back to woo Singapore audiences again, after six long years. Witty, engaging and supremely entertaining, David Copperfield has elevated the ancient art of magic to new heights and redefined it along the way. He has made the Statue of Liberty vanished, walked through the Great Wall of China, flown through the air and made audience members disappear and reappear in places they would never expect.

Catch the master illusionist, David Copperfield, in his new Asia tour “World of Wonder”, on 2nd and 3rd November at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Finally figured out how to spend my birthday.

Since I am off that day I will have lunch with the folks. Then in the evening the wifey and myself will have our own private celebration. The problem for me is that there is only one of me, and just about everyone wants to celebrate along with me. so in previous years I had to just lump everyone together in one big dinner. And my colleagues and friends never get a chance to celebrate with me.

On a side note Agnes has more or less decided what to get me. She teased that she has two options. Which is kinda different from how we usually go about getting one another's gifts, we go together to buy the gifts after the other party has decided what he or she wants.

****************************

On the 20th a bunch of people are going up north to Noah's Ark at Pekan Nanas. There is also Alden's and Andre's birthday crap that day. So I have a ready made excuse not to go. Agnes has already indicated she will not be free for the birthday party. I am keen to go for the trip, but the thing is that I hardly know anyone else going that well (although that has not stopped me in the past), but wun be complete if Agnes does not go also. Of course this may not be the only opportunity for her to go anyway. So the option for me is not to go this time and tag along the next time such a trip is organised, OR to go this time and have fun whilst my dar does her work in peace, and then go again when Agnes is free to do so next year.

have to give them my confirmation soon.

SPC Car Boot Sale 2007
Date: 28th October
time: 9am to 9pm
where: Downtown East carpark B

Great bargains await you!
Do not miss the annual SPC Car Boot Sale! Registration starts on 3 October 2007 and interested parties must be a SPC&U cardmember to register for the event. Registration is at $25 cash and can be made at any SPC service station islandwide from 9am to 8pm daily till 20 October 2007.
Please log on to www.spc.com.sg or call SPC Service Station hotline at 1800-477-1800 for more information.

Do come and see if you can pick up some good bargains. You never know what you can find...

or even better...set up a stall from the boot of your car to turn all your old and unwanted stuff into $$$

Still considering the feasibility of setting up a stall there. The problem is that it is a whole day affair. The 28th also happens to be the parents anniversary date. So if I do take part, then I will in most probability not be able to make it for the anniversary dinner. Also I do think in order to make it worthwhile I am gonna need more stuff to sell and some spare hands. Noel and Ant are the most probable suspects, as they may have some stuff to sell as well. It is like a 12 hr marathon thingy and it is something that I cant do on my own, so definitely gonna need help manning the stall and finding even more stuff to sell.

If I do set up a stall I will be selling books and toys. and maybe animal related merchandise.

*************************************

went to look at the swing at Ji Mei again today. Gonna need a second opinion from Agnes, but it seems rather big to put by the window. So it is touch and go as far as getting it. Maybe it could be located near the bomb shelter? anyway time is there to really weigh our options.

************************

Agnes is really on tenterhooks regarding her job application at HSA. It is something Agnes really wants, and the main reason why she went back to study for her Masters in the first place. So we are both really hoping that she gets her dream job. They said they will let her know the results in 2 to 3 weeks times, and it has already been over a week. So we wait....

****************************************************

wondering if anyone needs a $100 Lee Hwa voucher?

*********************************

This saturday is hari raya puasa. do hope that Agnes and myself will get to spend some much needed quality time together. been a while since we really spent time together. maybe we can go cycling or something.

hoot

- Whilst driving today, saw a wedding car that got into an accident with a sand lorry. When I passed by saw glass and parts of the car all over the road. There was also an ambulance so someone must have been hurt obviously. The damage to the car did not seem too severe, but still unfortunate that such a thing should happen on someone's special day.

- On saturday mum gave Noel money for all our dinners. For some reason they ordered food for 2 and did not include my share! Really do not know what to say. Was rather pissed at the time but it is over now. Ate a banana and drank some Milo. :'(

- Gonna have to bring Scruffy to get her naughty bits done. It has to be done for health reasons more than anything else. From what I read, unneutered females have higher risks of cancer and such, so be in her best interest to get it done soon before anything untowards develops. But notwithstanding, she is a gem of a rabbit , if a tad reluctant to be carried.

- Gonna close my CPF investment plan. It has made me a bundle, but after applying for the flat and such, my CPF has really been depleted. $40,000 +++ is not a bad return for $30 k of investment.

- waiting anxiously for Kaili to set a date to finalise the plans for the house. The sooner we settle the nitty-gritty, the sooner we can get moving to renovate and buy the furniture et al.

- gonna have to clean out my cupboards soon. have lots of old and unused clothes, shoes, mails etc.

- saw a nice hammock swing at Ji Mei. costs $198. maybe we can have that at our house (together with the Papasan chair).

not quite the same as the one I saw, but the closest I can find in terms of style. the one i saw is more comfy, like a mix between a sofa and a hammock.

but u get the general idea. by the way, it seats 2.

- beginning to wonder when I said my marriage vows, if I also took a vow of celibacy...

- reaching that time of year when the bills start coming in. road tax...vehicle inspection... car insurance... car maintainance/servicing...

- my big day is coming up in a matter of weeks. wonder what Agnes will do to make my day a memorable one...

- miss Agnes so. Just can't bear to be apart from her. But her school work is the priority for now. Our time will come.

- need to buy a bicycle pump. my mountain bikes tyres are flat. :( thats what happens when you buy a cheap china-made bike.

- still no resolution to the broadband issue

- also when to apply the gas and water heater for the flat?

- our water bills for the last couple of months have been rather high. surprising since no one actually lives in the house now. I suspect that there may be a leak somewhere. As a safety precaution I turned off the water mains.

- rabbit toenails are loooong. think may have to send them for grooming soon. to clean them up, brush them down and cut those nails.

- After all the fuss, WL and Mz reconciled their differences. sigh. seems she never learnt what a jerk he is even after all he has done. she is too nice for her own good. makes you just wanna grab her by the collar and shake some sense into her. I guess it is true what they say about love being blind.

- need to cut my toenails

- gonna go to the flat soon and do some cleaning up of the walls and floors.

- I like dogs. the only dog we have right now is Beethooven. And Beethooven is not much of a dog in the doggy sense of the word. We do have cats, rabbits and hamsters amongst the menagerie of pets at the Cornelia. But none of them are truly dogs. Though Monk comes close.

- I seemed to have developed an aversion to drinking, smoking and..tattoos...

- just read that church attendance is .... 16,000!! good grief...I mean...Praise the Lord!! *cough*

- been skipping my lunch most days lately. not hard to do since that is what I do anyway when I am busy or do not have company for lunch, and on weekends.
But wonder if there are any long-term ill -effects.

- On 17 and 18th will be on course at Capitol House..with Wee ling. be nice to have a familiar face at a course. hate eating alone and having no one to chat with. so having her around is a real bonus. not to mention that it is just a hop and a skip away from City Hall mrt.
