awesome in this place

It turned out that Lyn's friend had once again backed out of the dinner engagement. Lyn had no dinner and I being nearby gleefully agreed to join her for dinner (or is it the other way around?). I walked to my car..slowly.....the sun had not fully gone. In the end I just sat on a stone bench near the car park watching the last remaining light fade away into the night. I had told Lyn 7 pm to meet but it looked that if I was to make that time I would have to leave...now. So I left Labrador Park but I knew I would be back again soon (the next day actually).

I drove to Lyn's place as best I could and was actually late anyway. But still she gave me that oh-so-pretty smile of hers. Made me feel bad for making her wait.

Lyn informed me that May, her sis, would also be joining us. I do not know what exactly their relationship is like. It seems like they enjoy antagonising one another to no end. Yet they always call and message one another to go out for dinner, bowling and the like. So we set off for May's office...

After much ado we finally got May in the car and got out of there to go to One North. I had heard that they have some really good hawker fare there. It is actually a collection of the best foodstalls in Singapore. When we got there some stalls were already closed for the day. We did our footwork and finally settled for Indian food. The girls ordered rice and a few side dishes. For my part I ordered prata, kosong and cheese+mushroom. It was not too bad but rather on the pricey side. I guess the rent is a bitch, not to mention the entertainment fees for the dancing drink stall attendants.

Following dinner we drove towards Marina South with the intention of bowling. Along the way their cousin called up and informed that she would be staying over that night as she had an early lecture(?) the next day. So we scrapped the bowling and instead headed home. I dropped Lyn at the MRT so she could wait for her cousins timely arrival, as May and I went to Tiong Bahru to buy fruits. But the fruit stall there was already closed for the day. So we made our way back again to the train station and found Lyn still waiting there.

One cousin had arrived we adjourned to the nearby food centre for cold chng thg. Yummy!! Hence the long queue that snaked from the stall. After that I sent the lovely ladies home. (No...I did not accept Lyn's invite to stay over) :P

See the sun rise over her skin...

See the sun rise over her skin
Don't change it
See the sun rise over her skin
Dawn changes everything
Everything
And the delta sun
Burns bright and violet

On Friday I went to Labrador Park to see the sun set. I had heard from Ismail how he used to and still does bring his wife there. It was a clear day and the sun shone brightly. I knew that it was gonna be good a good one. True to form the sun scorched down on me. I walked till I found good spot in the shade....got up continued walking to the jetty. In between I messaged my beloved Lyn, who was waiting to meet her friend for dinner. How I wished she was there to share the moment with me, but alas it was not to be. If there was any consolation it was that if the weather holds on Saturday we might both be able to catch another beautiful sunrise ...TOGETHER.

Was quite an experience just walking alone there. I wondered about the people I saw there like the man in the funny hat who was fishing on the jetty. He did not seem local and did not even appear to be gainfully employed. But he did look happy, at least contented. How about the two elderly ladies practsing their line dance moves without any musical accompaniment. I wonder how they managed to synchronise their steps so well. They truly seemed to be in a world of their own. It seemed every person had a story to tell.

As the shadows got longer the entire park was bathed in an orange glow. Often times it seemed that Mother Nature was performing a song and dance just for an audience of one. Waves crashed upon stone walls as the rays of the setting sun danced upon the surface of the water. Sillouettes of the jetty against a blood red sky and couples walking hand in hand in the shadows. Such moments you can never put a price on. Made me wish I had my digicam on hand to capture what I saw but pictures would never truly do justice. You just had to be there...

Going...going....gone!!!

European giant Manchester United crashed out of the Champions League following their first knockout round second leg match.

United lost out to Porto with a last-minute goal by Costinha giving the Portuguese a 1-1 draw on the night and a 3-2 victory on aggregate, making Alex Ferguson's 100th Champions League match a decidedly unfestive affair.

The only thing better than my favourite team winning is Man U losing!! Bwaaaa-haaa-haaaa.....

Laid, Made ,Paid

Visted Uncle Ong with Lyn today. Was not planned but rather an impromptu thing. I saw another side to Uncle Ong and his family that I never saw before. I was always under the impression that he and his children were emotionally distant, but I think I did see some love in the room today.

Thereafter Lyn and I adjourned to Fish and Co. for a late dinner. By then we were both hungry and raring to eat. Lyn ordered teriyaki salmon and I ordered swordfish collar. Following a dinner which I somehow did not finish (I must be losing my touch), we went to Charles & Keith to look for shoes for Lyn.

Tomorrow Lyn , Hasli and I will be going to Suntec City for an IT fair. Hasli is STILL looking for his digi-cam.... Hopefully Lyn can make it as she has an audit at Buona Vista in the afternoon. On my part, my car might be ready to be collected from the workshop tomorrow so depending on the time I might either collect it tomorrow or first thing on Friday.

Love is....

They say it's a river, that circles the Earth
A beam of light shinin' to the edge of the universe
It conquers all
It changes everything

They say it's a blessing
They say it's a gift
They say it's a miracle and I believe that it is
It conquers all
But it's a mystery

Love breaks your heart
Love takes no less than everything
Love makes it hard

And it fades away
So easily

In this world we've created
In this place that we live
In the blink of an eye babe, the darkness slips in
Love lights the world
Unites the lovers for eternity

Love breaks the chains
Love aches for every one of us
Love takes the tears and the pain
And then turns it into the beauty that remains

Look at this place
It was paradise
But now it's dying
I'll pray for love

I'll take, my chances that it's not too late

And it fades away so easily
Oh Oh Oh

Bought a book on massage and a CD-ROM on guitar chords. Now all I need is someone to massage . Any volunteers?

The Bends

Went hiking on Pulau Ubin on Saturday. Was great fun although things did not go as we had planned. Now my left foot hurts.

"Vote PAS To Enter Heaven"

Dr Mahathir said this meant the PAS people need neither pray nor do what God had commanded as they could enter heaven merely by voting PAS in the election.

"In that case, rogues and rapists will also enter heaven if they are PAS members and had voted for the party," he said.

The Passion

Mel Gibson's explosive epic "The Passion of the Christ" remained at number one in the North American box office and was set to gross another 51.3 million dollars this weekend, preliminary figures showed.

try

All I know
Is everything is not as it's sold
but the more I grow the less I know
And I have lived so many lives
Though I'm not old
And the more I see, the less I grow
The fewer the seeds the more I sow

Then I see you standing there
Wanting more from me
And all I can do is try
Then I see you standing there
Wanting more from me
And all I can do is try

I wish I hadn't seen all of the realness
And all the real people are really not real at all
The more I learn the more I cry
As I say goodbye to the way of life
I thought I had designed for me

Then I see you standing there
Wanting more from me
And all I can do is try
Then I see you standing there
I'm all I'll ever be
But all I can do is try
Try

All of the moments that already passed
We'll try to go back and make them last
All of the things we want each other to be
We never will be
And that's wonderful, and that's life
And that's you, baby
This is me, baby
And we are, we are, we are, we are
Free
In our love
We are free in our love
